Customer Review Summary
Chow mein is the dish reviewers raise most, and opinions on it split sharply. Long-time customers call the plain and dry style versions perfect, with one suggesting ordering it with a sauce if it comes out dry, while another found the chicken chow mein rubbery with skinny noodles. Close behind, fans single out the Mandarin style chicken, the Singapore fried rice and the specials. One calls it a proper old school takeaway, and others describe efficient, friendly staff and drivers, quick preparation and food that was exceptional over many years. The complaints are just as concrete and account for most of the low ratings. Diners report chewy chicken and beef, a bland chilli beef, dry rubbery chicken and noodles, duck in plum sauce covered in a sauce one called disgusting, and a Peking sauce one reviewer had to spit out. Two describe disputes with staff. One was told the food had been collected an hour late, and another says they were called a liar over an order they say was wrong and were refused a full refund.

“No idea why the reviews are so mixed. Been coming here for over 20 years. Always spot on. Mandarin style chicken, and any of the specials is what we normally go for. The plain chow mein is perfect. If you don’t want it dry, order it with a sauce 🤷♂️ such a wide choice of meals, including starters. Reasonably priced, and always quick to prepare.”

“Ordered a meal for two for my partners Birthday. I had Beef in Chilli black bean sauce and my partner had Chicken with noodles. His chicken and noodles were really dry and rubbery. Mine wasn't much better. Disappointing to say the least. We won't be ordering again.”

“Horrendous VILE customer service. Did not give me the order I asked for, called me a liar saying I ate the food when I clearly provided and took all the food back that I DID NOT order. Would not refund me full price. Food smelt bad. Should be shut down judging on previous reviews. Should not be aloud to speak to customers this way. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. No apology. Absolutely appalling vile people. Do not waste your money here.”
