About Julie's Cafe

On Stottercliffe Rd in Sheffield, Julie's Cafe sits adjoining the Trans Pennine Trail, drawing cyclists and motorbike riders in for a break along the route. The kitchen runs an all-day breakfast, with the sausage and bacon bap paired with chips a recurring order, served in portion sizes that regularly come out larger than expected. Tea arrives with free biscuits, and staff will top up water bottles on request for those passing through. Coffee and a simple cuppa are options too for anyone not after a full meal. The cafe operates on a walk-in basis and opens daily during the daytime only. Outdoor seating is available for those stopping straight off the trail, and the step-free entrance suits visitors with mobility needs. Dogs are welcome, and high chairs are on hand for families with young children.

Customer Review Summary

The sausage sandwich is what reviewers praise most, describing it as enormous and so loaded with sausage that one diner could not work out where it all went, with several saying it filled them up for the rest of the day. A bacon and sausage bap with chips earns similar praise, though one diner could not finish the excellent chips because the portion was too much. Others single out a freshly cooked all day breakfast as great value. Reviewers repeatedly call the food reasonably priced and the service friendly. The spot beside the trans pennine trail draws cyclists and motorbikers, and one cyclist says the food kept them going till Doncaster. The coffee is called cheap and sufficient. One reviewer who walked in to ask whether dogs were allowed was told "it's full" in a rude tone and felt unwelcome, noting the staff member did not look busy. Another cyclist appreciated the lady filling a drinks bottle with water, and one diner's tea came with three free biscuits.

“i walked in today at around 11:30 AM to ask if dogs were aloud in the cafe to be retuned with the answer of ‘it’s full’ in a rude tone which couldn’t be more unwelcoming, i would understand if this lady would’ve spoke more politely to a potential customer and i would understand if she looked busy but she was just stood watching the door as i walked in and out again.”
  • Fraser McCrea
“I purchased a sausage sandwich the size of my head, the sheer amount of sausages could have reassembled the swine it came from, expecting to pay an extortionate price for such a whopper of a sandwich, instead I paid a mere £3.20, talk about bang for your buck, after consuming this sandwich, I don't think I need tea ( I had it at 12). Julie herself crafted the sandwich in less than minute, but somehow put a gallon of love in it. I would recommend highly to anyone with a large stomach,”
  • Alfie Beveridge
“Lovely portion sizes, amazing taste. Quite obviously made with lots of love. Extremely cheap for the quality, (£3.20 for an absolutely massive sandwich that fills you up for the rest of the day). The amount of sausage and bacon I had is unfathomable, not sure where it all went, but I were left satisfied and will definitely come back again.”
  • David Gregson
“Great cafe , we use it while out on our motorbikes, big no huge portions and very reasonably priced , check out the sausage bap.”
