About Twig and Spoon
Twig and Spoon is a British restaurant on Ash Ln in Sevenoaks, set inside a garden centre where gardening supplies are sold on site. The kitchen runs separate brunch and lunch menus, with soups, cold and hot sandwiches and bigger meals. A fish finger sandwich with chips appears on the menu, and a selection of cakes is available alongside it. Afternoon tea brings sandwiches and warm scones with more cakes. When the main restaurant is full, a Garden Room provides overflow seating.

Customer Review Summary
Afternoon tea draws the most praise, with reviewers describing dainty sandwiches, warm scones and delicious cakes in a Christmassy setting that suited a birthday outing. Cakes and desserts come up repeatedly elsewhere, and one reviewer notes the dessert portions are huge enough to share. Close behind are a fish finger sandwich with really good chips, and a menu running from soups to hot and cold sandwiches, plus a Sunday lunch on the terrace. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and helpful. The complaints are fewer but specific. One reviewer found the coffee disappointing, and a friend disliked what she believed was margarine in a bacon sandwich. One first-time visitor felt unwelcome at reception, though the waitress eased that, and another wanted a better choice of teas. Several reviewers say it gets busy and suggest booking ahead. One diner singled out the staff's awareness of the need for strict gluten avoidance for a coeliac guest.

“The coffee was very disappointing 😞 My prawn sandwich was fine but the friend l was with claimed that margarine had been used in her bacon sandwich which she did not like. I dont think l will be returning as l do love a good coffee.”

“Really enjoyed my fish finger sandwich, chips were really really good! Good selection of cakes available too. Waiting staff were friendly and helpful, they also looked very smart in their uniforms. Highly recommend and will definitely visit again next time I'm in the area! Wished I didn't leave so far away!”

“I’ve had the pleasure of eating here from both the brunch and lunch menus, and I’ve been really impressed on both occasions. The food is freshly cooked using locally sourced ingredients, and everything I’ve tried has been absolutely delicious. It can get very busy, so I’d definitely recommend booking in advance. If you can’t get a table in the main restaurant, the Garden Room is just as lovely — although it can be a little warm in the summer! The staff are friendly, attentive and polite, which makes the whole experience even better. One useful tip if you’re visiting when it’s busy: you can pay at the table using the QR code. It can sometimes be tricky to catch someone for the bill when they’re rushed off their feet, so this is really handy. A lovely place with great food and excellent service. I’ll definitely be back!”

“Popped in today for our first visit around 11.15. Gentlemen at reception made us feel quite unwelcome and uncomfortable. We had no idea it’s best to book. We did get a table..it was very quiet! We had a cake and a coffee, which was nice. Our waitress Sharon was lovely and made us feel more welcome. However, Wouldn’t rush back as first impressions at reception put us off. Shame!”

“I have been frequenting the twig and the spoon for many years. It is a wonderful space to have delicious food as well as stop for some gardening supplies. The menu has a wide variety of choices from soups to cold and hot sandwiches and bigger meals. The desserts are delicious and remember to share as the portion size is huge. I have always had great service as well.”
