  “This is one of the most disturbing and irresponsible takeaway experiences I have ever had, and that is not an exaggeration. I phoned Sunrise to place an order and made a point of being absolutely clear. I ordered two Singapore chow mein and explicitly stated there must be no pork, explaining clearly that I am Muslim. This was not mumbled or implied. It was said plainly and deliberately. The man on the phone assured me, without hesitation, that the dish does not come with pork. Based on that reassurance, I placed the order along with other items and took the food home. My entire family was eating this food. Partway through the meal, something felt wrong. The meat had a texture that immediately raised concern. It did not resemble chicken or beef. Anyone who has eaten enough takeaway knows when something is off, and this was unmistakable. Alarmed, I stopped eating and rang the restaurant to clarify what meat had been used. The response was shocking in both content and attitude. I was told, casually and without apology, that it was pork. When I pointed out that I had specifically asked for no pork and had been told it did not contain any, there was no urgency, no concern, no accountability. Just a flat confirmation that yes, it contains pork. By that point, some members of my family had already eaten it. This is not a small mistake or a misunderstanding. This is a complete failure to respect dietary requirements that were clearly communicated. Religious dietary restrictions are not preferences. They are not optional extras. Ignoring them shows a level of carelessness that is frankly alarming. If a restaurant cannot handle something as basic as accurately describing what meat is in a dish, then it cannot be trusted with food at all. The food itself offered no saving grace. Oily, heavy, poorly balanced and entirely forgettable. It tasted like it had been cooked on autopilot by a kitchen that simply does not care anymore. No finesse, no attention to detail, no sense that anyone involved takes pride in what they are serving. But taste becomes irrelevant when trust is completely broken. What makes this situation worse is the utter lack of concern shown once the issue was raised. There was no meaningful apology, no sense of seriousness, no attempt to acknowledge the gravity of what had happened. That indifference is far more troubling than the error itself. If you have dietary requirements of any kind, religious, ethical, medical, or otherwise, I would strongly advise against ordering from here. If you value transparency, basic honesty, or the wellbeing of the people you are feeding, look elsewhere. Final word: A restaurant’s reputation rests on trust. Once that is gone, nothing else matters. Sunrise demonstrated a casual disregard for a clearly stated requirement and only admitted the truth once the damage had already been done. That is not something a polite apology can undo. This is a place that has lost the right to be relied upon, and for many people, that alone should be reason enough to stay well away. Straight into the bin it goes. I wouldn't give this food to a hippo or a swine to eat.”
