About Restaurant DOM
Restaurant DOM is a Scunthorpe restaurant in the town centre on Robert Street, where a 10-course taster menu anchors the kitchen. The zero-waste approach shapes how the team works, turning elements like tomato skins into powders used through the meal. A wine flight pairs with the tasting menu, and an a la carte menu runs alongside for those who prefer it. Snacks open the experience, including mussel popcorn served with a curry and lemon sauce. The kitchen is visible from the dining room, and staff explain each dish at the table. Reservations are required.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers repeatedly single out the tasting menu as the standout draw, with several diners citing specific standout items like venison cottage pie, roasted pigeon, banana textures, and mussel popcorn with curry and lemon sauce. Close behind, the fillet steak earns repeated praise, described as melting in the mouth and generously sized, alongside the 48-hour blade of beef and cheese souffle. A la carte diners name chilled soup, salmon, pork croquettes, chocolate namelaka, and the restaurant's apple crumble as favourites. Service is consistently described as friendly and attentive, with staff taking time to explain each dish in detail, and several mention the visible kitchen as a highlight. Reviewers also note a zero-waste approach and a warm, relaxed atmosphere, and a few describe personal touches such as a handwritten anniversary card and petit fours offered after dessert. One reviewer flags the exterior as hard to spot, suggesting clearer signage would help.

“I’ll start with a !WOW! because that’s what it was from start to finish. Restaurant was recommended to me, booked on the day for dinner for two, and even though we were running a little late and had to find it as we’re new to DOM (we thought its name needs illumination to stand out and be seen) we were greeted like old friends. Staff are lovely, really friendly and attentive. As for the food every course was truly delicious, faultless. We both chose the fillet steak to follow our starters of chilled soup and salmon: beautiful cuts, melted in the mouth, generously sized deep steaks, perfectly cooked. Scrumptious! The sides were fabulous too, field mushrooms in rosemary are my new fave, roasted cabbage, new potatoes tossed in garlic at our request instead of Parmesan as dislike cheese. Didn’t think we had room for dessert but we managed it! Afterwards, I ordered a Kahlua to round off an excellent dinner and the lovely Kirsty brought us petit fours to share between us. Lovely touch :-) Would award 7 stars for the whole, relaxed experience if I could, that good!”

“We came for our anniversary meal , and I always thought “I can’t see this place lasting long in Scunthorpe “ it’s not that I think bad of this town , it’s just ? A working class place, with honest working class people, but I hope I’ll be proved wrong!!! We arrived at a busy time and after we announced ourselves were seated at our table ( this place was packed and it became apparent why ) the service was prompt and polite not pretentious, we were given a drinks menu, which was extensive… then after we ordered drinks the delivery was speedily delivered, we chose a 3 course meal from the al a cart menu , and to say we were pleasantly surprised was a understatement… the starter ,main and desert was outstanding….. the quality of the food , the presentation, the taste was impressive, if your having doubts about coming here ! Don’t …. It’s worth it”

“Would highly recommend! The best meal I've had in a long time especially in Scunthorpe! From the start, the hostess was very welcoming and attentive, between her and the male server (unfortunately I didn't get their names) we had such a good experience, they was very helpful explaining the menu, the background of the foods and the dish itself when they arrived. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We had the pork croquettes and cheese souffle to start followed by 48 hour blade of beef and catch of the day which was monkfish. To finish we had chocolate namelaka and their version of apple crumble. Each dish was just as tasty as the next. Definitely worth another visit!”

“We chose to go here for our wedding anniversary. From start to finish the whole experience was amazing and the little card for us on the table a lovely touch. The service was attentive and Benoit was very informative and knowledgeable about the dishes. We chose to have the à la carte menu this time but after chatting with him before we left would probably chose the tasting menu on our next visit. Nothing goes to waste in this restaurant, everything is used down to tomato skins being dehydrated and made into a powder for flavouring. And the flavours are sublime, so many layers that I actually sat back and felt like I was actually properly tasting my food for the first time in a long time. This restaurant is a wonderful addition to Scunthorpe and can only go from strength to strength. The young chefs in the kitchen are very talented. We can’t wait to go back.”
