Quick info
About The Rum & Crab Shack
The Rum & Crab Shack is a seafood restaurant and bar on the 1st floor in Saint Ives, with windows that look out over the harbour. The kitchen centres on seafood, with oysters on the menu, and the bar runs an extensive rum list built around rum flights alongside cocktails. The room takes walk-ins, and guests can be seated straight away or asked to wait at the bar for drinks while a table comes free. Seating in the bar area gives the room a second setting for those dropping in just to drink. Children are given colouring items at the table, and the entrance is up steep, awkward steps that are difficult to manage with a buggy.

“We went here for lunch whilst on holiday in Cornwall. Walked straight in no reservation, We were seated straight away. Staff were very friendly polite and very attentive. They provided some coloring in bits for our kids which they loved. The drinks were delicious the food bought out promptly and was amazing and very well cooked. The view from the window is beautiful. I would highly recommend stopping here for a bite to eat and one of the amazing cocktails. I Would suggest not taking a buggy if you have one as the steps up to the entrance are quite steep and awkward to navigate when you do have one.”

“Visited the restaurant while on a family holiday. The service and food was excellent. I had the Mac & Cheese with pulled Pork and Burnt ends. Was so tasty and loads of it. The speed of service was great and very patient when my elderly mother was taking a bit longer to decide what to have. Great view overlooking the harbour as well.”

“We always visit this place when in St Ive’s. The rum list is extensive and the service is very good. Plenty of seating available in the bar area with a great view out to the harbour. Very reasonable prices. Unisex cubicles. Dog friendly. Great oysters and rum flights available.”

“Underwhelming and overpriced. Seafood boil was bland. Cornish crab was not worth adding. Table was too dark to see the menu. Place didnt feel clean. Premium priced on top of all that.. not good value”
