Customer Review Summary

The unlimited salad bar draws the most praise, described as a hit with kids and great as usual, and even a critical diner called it fairly consistent. Close behind are ribs that fell off the bone, tasty chicken skewers and a Chicken Tuesday offering with a great selection. Mini puds with a hot drink were a good small portion for one group. Service earns steady credit, with several describing friendly, quick, attentive servers, and large groups seated and fed promptly. A few mention the recent refurbishment and updated menu. The main complaints center on the children's meal deal and cost. One parent found the chicken burger dry and overcooked, missing the jalapeno toppings requested, and felt the kids menu implied a drink was included while a brownie ordered with the deal was charged separately. Another was told no extra nuggets beyond the four included, then offered four more at an extra charge, and left unhappy with the manager's response. One diner wanted hotter vegetables. One waitress brought a cardigan to a guest who felt cold from the air conditioning.

“Absolutely appalling customer service from the manager today. I was there with my family, including my 10-year-old child, who is an extremely fussy eater. I simply asked if there was any way to get a few extra chicken nuggets beyond the four included with the children's meal. After initially being told no, I was then told I could buy another four for £7. I asked the bar staff if there was anything they could do. The manager came over and explained the situation. I didn't argue or raise my voice. I simply looked at my mum in disbelief at the £7 charge and then looked back at him. His immediate response was to ask me if I was trying to intimidate him. I genuinely couldn't believe what I'd just been accused of and asked him why he would say that. He confirmed that he "thought" I was trying to intimidate him. At no point had I threatened him, raised my voice or behaved aggressively. I was simply trying to work out what my child could eat. What made this worse was his attitude from the moment he approached. Instead of trying to resolve a very minor issue, he came across as though he was already prepared for an argument. He then refused to give me his name when I asked, instead telling me I should ask my niece, who apparently used to work there. By this point I was understandably angry and he asked me to leave, which I did. I'm not leaving this review because I couldn't get extra chicken nuggets. I'm leaving it because of the way a paying customer was spoken to and treated by someone in a management position. There is absolutely no excuse for accusing a customer of intimidation simply because you don't like their facial expression or reaction to what you've told them. Really disappointing and completely unnecessary.”
