  “Me and my husband love steak but we have special needs children so are not able to go out for many meals as my eldest son finds it overwhelming. When we do, we come here. We come here yesterday for a quick lunch and yet again the service and food was brilliant. The staff are fantastic here. They placed us in our corner table that we like to sit at. Service was fast, my ribeye steak was delicious (my husband had the tbone and said it was lovely) and my cocktail was soo good. We will never not come here. We love it here ❤️”

  “I ordered off of the mid day menu and had the Caesar salad as my starter and the ribeye steak as my mains. (It’s worth noting that there is a surcharge for the ribeye steak, for the filet mignon and t bone steaks) The Caesar salad was nice, but nothing to write home about. The sauce tastes creamy and not at all Caesar-ey as normally anchovies, cheese and mustard are mushed to create the unique sauce. In this instance the anchovies were lazily placed on top (?) therefore not giving the salad the over all desired classic Caesar taste … it came with tomatoes and sun dried tomatoes, which I have honestly never encountered in a real Caesar salad …(?) the croutons in the salad tasted stale and cold; which was honestly a bit of a let down. There was a satisfactory amount of cheese shavings as a Caesar salad should contain, however. The mains came with an onion loaf, which was more of a deep fried, loaf-shaped onion ring. It was delicious but a bit of a catfish as simply from the name alone, I assumed it would be more of an onion bread therefore in retrospect, the additional order thereof might have been a bit of an oily over kill. Not pictured here, I also ordered a prawn starter which sadly was overcooked and lacking any flavor! The sweet tomato jam helped but truly the rubberiness of the prawns left me a bit disappointed regarding quality of food. On the plus side, my ribeye steak was perfectly cooked, medium rare and was delicious with extra salt on it. I really enjoyed the Diane sauce on side as well as the (tiny) portion of fries. Over all I was very satisfied with my mains but wished the starters had all been a little less underwhelming. I’d definitely visit again for the steak but might have chosen a different starter and definitely not ordered more onion ‘loaf’ as the one with the steak is definitely more than enough!”

  “Miller & Carter Chigwell is a genuinely lovely steakhouse, and it made for a perfect place to celebrate a birthday. From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm and inviting. The dining room is cosy without feeling cramped, and the fireplace with a real, live flame adds a wonderful sense of comfort — especially on a chilly evening. It’s the kind of atmosphere that encourages you to slow down, relax, and properly enjoy the occasion. The food was excellent from start to finish. As someone who has lived in England for 26 years, I was genuinely delighted to find something I rarely see on menus here: beef bone marrow served in the bone. It was beautifully presented, rich and indulgent, and exactly what I’d hoped for — a real highlight of the meal and a memorable “finally found it!” moment. The rest of our dishes were just as impressive: perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and served at a good pace so we never felt rushed. Service deserves a special mention. The staff were impeccable — polite, attentive, and genuinely caring. They checked in at just the right moments, gave helpful recommendations, and made sure our birthday celebration felt special without any fuss or forced “show”. That balance is rare, and it was truly appreciated. Practicalities are also a big win here. Parking is superb: a large car park with plenty of free spaces, easy access, and no stress. The location is straightforward to reach, the venue is easy to spot, and you won’t find yourself circling around or getting lost. All in all, a brilliant experience. Highly recommended, and we’ll absolutely be back.”

  “We celebrated my birthday at Miller & Carter in Chigwell, and it turned into one of the most emotional and beautiful evenings I’ve ever had. This dinner was part of a surprise organised by my daughter and close friends, and we were a large group (around 11–13 people). From the moment we arrived, everything was just right — the service was warm, attentive and efficient, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Despite our group size, nothing felt rushed or chaotic. The food was excellent, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was cosy and homely, enhanced by the lovely Christmas decorations, which made the evening feel extra special and festive. I’ve been to Miller & Carter before for my anniversary and had a great experience then too, so this visit confirmed once again the consistently high standard, great food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. Thank you to the whole team for helping make such a meaningful celebration unforgettable. Highly recommended.”
