Customer Review Summary

Most reviewers come away praising the servers, described as friendly, attentive and welcoming, especially for the balloon animals made for children, from a balloon dog to animals for one-year-olds after dessert. One server also told a family the history of the Pride of the Clyde boat. Food earns steady praise too: perfectly salted fries with crisp, tender chicken, a salad of crispy chicken, bacon and red onion dressing, and the pick your own sundae with high quality toppings. One diner likes the more condensed menu, finding it easier to choose from. The main complaint comes from one regular whose group of seven had a very long wait for mains, asked for updates twice, and was told their order was next on the grill. A man who seemed to be a manager offered no apology and no discount, and the reviewer felt food quality had slipped on recent visits. Even then, the server made a child a balloon model of a water gun.

“Went for lunch with wife and kids. Our server Vicky was fantastic, very friendly, and great with the kids. She told us the history of the Pride of the Clyde boat, and made the kids some balloon animals after dessert. Great time and will be back again soon”

“In for lunch. Food was brilliant. Our server Vicky was very attentive and made us feel very welcome which makes a massive difference when you have a 1 year old. She made her a balloon animal that she loved.”

“We've visited this TGI's a lot over the years. My daughter loves it. The last twice we've been, there have been issues with long wait times for food and really poor customer service. The food quality has definitely gone down, too. I didn't put a negative review last time, giving the benefit of the doubt, hoping it was just a one off. Yesterday, we visited as a group of 7. We ordered 6 starters and mains, drinks and a kids meal. We got drinks pretty quickly, but waited a long time for the starters. The wait for mains was absolutely ridiculous and we asked for updates twice. Eventually our server told us they were "next on the grill". This had been more than an hour of waiting at this point and seeing tables seated after us getting food. We said to just bring us the bill for what we had. Then a guy came out (assuming he was a manager) and said the food would only be 5 more minutes. We said we would wait, as it would take longer to go elsewhere. The food was hot, but not the quality that we have previously enjoyed there. My mum had ribs and said they tasted like they weren't cooked through. She has been ill today. The girl who was serving us was good and made my little girl a balloon model of a water gun to cheer her up after waiting so long, but the guy had an attitude of, "It is what it is" and offered no apologies. After waiting so long and having had a really sub par experience, we weren't offered as much as a small discount on the bill. It's definitely the last time we'll visit.”

“Vicky was our waitress and we were served very quickly (about five minutes). The fries were perfectly salted with crisp, tender chicken. Along with that, we were given little balloon dog by vicky. When I was served the pick your own sudae. All the toppings were high quality and a perfect dessert for a Friday night! 5 stars!”

“Had such a lovely experience here — the food was amazing, fresh, and full of flavour. But what really made the visit stand out was the service from Nicky. She was so friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish, making sure everything was perfect for us. You can tell she genuinely cares about customers having a great experience. Outstanding service like that makes all the difference. Will definitely be back!”
