  “I was diagnosed coeliac six years ago and in that time I've tried quite a few gluten free fish and chips - this was by far the best! In terms of taste it tasted exactly like 'normal' fish and chips and they have an extensive GF menu (all cooked in separate fryer) including battered sausage, onion rings, curry sauce etc. It was great to get things like that that I can't normally get elsewhere. Definitely worth a visit if you're coeliac! Their 'normal' fish and chips are amazing too, my dad said they were 'possibly the best fish and chips he's ever had'.”

  “Was visiting the micro museum and stopped in for fish and chips. Made fresh. Lovely chat with staff. Drove to the beach and they were still piping hot. Crispy cod and more chips that we could eat.”

  “I chose GF sausage and chips with battered mushrooms. My wife chose fish and chips. It was all freshly cooked, piping hot and tasted exceptional. A special mention to the chips which were really well cooked and crispy. Friendly service too. Just remember to bring cash or be prepared to pay by bank transfer.”

  “We chose this fish n chip shop based on its gluten free reviews and we weren’t disappointed. My partner and I visited today. He is gluten intolerant and was very happy with his sausage and chips. I had haddock and chips…non gf. There is an extensive vegan/veggie menu too. Our food was fresh, beautifully cooked and reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this little gem.”

  “Incredible menu! If you are vegan or gluten free, you MUST pay Shakey Shakey a visit. Incredible tofish burger and vegan calamari. Huge portions, very good value. Amazing customer service. Great fish and chip shop vibes. Love this place!”

  “We chose this location just to get some chips, based on reviews, not even realising it had an extensive vegan menu. What a treat. Food was good and very well priced with generous portions. Large chips could have easily fed 3-4 people - it was a lot between 2 of us! The service was quick, the chips looked and tasted fresh. I wish we were staying in Ramsgate longer so I could sample more of their menu!”

  “Great family run fish shop with menus vegan and gluten free diets! The cod was fresh and the batter was cooked perfectly. The chips were really tasty too. None of the food was greasy and we all really enjoyed it. The staff were lovely and friendly too. This is now officially my favourite fish shop in Thanet! Oooh and the Scampi and curry sauce were great too! 🤤”

  “Probably the Friendliest Chippy I've ever been to - and Gluten Free too. Some places I've been to, you order 1 size larger off the menu to get a portion the size you require. Not here. You order a Medium chips and in most places that would be a Large. A Large cod would be Extra Large. And as for friendliness - we were asked what allergies we had, then a carton of chips arrived, flavoured with a homemade sauce and vinegar. Lovely. Then when we'd finished a sample of deep fried oreos in batter arrived - lovely! The gluten free fish batter was a family recipe, apparently a signature dish in Ramsgate for over 15 years. Made a lovely change. A great experience. I cannot recommend this place higher. Long may it continue. It deserves your custom - Vegans and Wheat eaters also catered for.”
