About Lee's Kitchen
Lee's Kitchen is a Chinese takeaway at 4 Market St in Pontypool, open in the evenings only. The kitchen cooks Chinese food, and the menu includes chow mein, spring rolls and chips in curry sauce, so a single order can combine a noodle dish, a starter and a side. Orders can be placed online. The takeaway trades on six days of the week and is closed on Tuesdays, so any visit needs to fall on one of the other evenings.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise hot, fresh food that arrives on time, with several describing delivery close to the requested time and delivery staff who greet them warmly at the door. Meat cooked to perfection, generous portions and good quality ingredients come up repeatedly, and a few call it the best Chinese in the area. Chow mein is the dish named most, though not always kindly. One reviewer found it bland, and a group of four felt it had few bean sprouts but still enjoyed the meal. Another reviewer's chips in curry sauce arrived mixed together and soggy, and one notes deliveries are sometimes late. The most serious complaint describes a New Year's Eve order after two earlier deliveries needed the address explained. Staff phoned from a number the customer did not recognise, the food was reportedly put in a bin, and the reviewer says a request to pay again was refused and further orders were ruled out. On the same mixed visit as the soggy chips, the complimentary spring rolls were called very tasty.

“For two previous deliveries I had to explain twice to the delivery man location of delivery. Stated building next door to public library and opposite civic centre. Ordered a meal for New year's eve they did try to contact me but I didn't recognise number. Informed they put the food into a bin and l lost 20 pounds and when I said I would pay again was refused and phoned put down on me and told I could not order from them again. A happy new year to their staff!!!!”

“Not the best if im honest. The chow mein was bland and the chips in curry sauce came mixed in so the chips were really soggy. Spring roll were very tasty and were complimentary, which was a nice touch. Will use again though as every business can have an off night and reverse a retry”

“I’ve been enjoying Lee’s Kitchen for the past 18 months, and every single time, the food has been consistently excellent. The portions are generous, the service is friendly, and the food is always ready on time. The prices are fair, and I don’t mind traveling from Cwmbran to Pontypool just to get their food. Highly recommend”

“Was bought a meal from here and have to say it was lush,my only gripe was not many bean sprouts in chow mein as was mentioned by the 4 of us eating, not taking away how it tasted we really enjoyed our meal.”
