Customer Review Summary
Chips draw the most comment, and reviewers split on them. Supporters describe fresh chips with a crisp outside and fluffy inside, large portions, and a cheesy chips serving that one says could feed two. Others found the chips not fresh, overcooked and tasting of burnt oil. Curry sauce is called perfect by one regular and as thick as wallpaper paste by another. The fish draws the heaviest complaints: several describe a small piece with little meat, greasy or thick, stodgy batter, and burnt batter bits clinging to it. Cod bites from the kids menu, burgers and battered sausage earn praise, and staff are called friendly and polite, though one couple felt rushed at the till. One reviewer reports being sick after eating the onion rings, which they describe as gritty and undercooked inside. One reviewer found no gluten free options available. Another turned up just after closing and was handed leftovers as a free takeaway that was still perfectly cooked.

“Wow, that was the worst fish and chips I've ever had. The chips were Luke warm well over cooked and literally tasted of burnt dirty over used cooking oil. When I got home and opened up the chips looked like they had been over cooked about 4 times, Tasted awful to. Paid for a large peice of cod and honestly it was no thicker or much bigger than a decent sized mackerel. The fish tasted ok but the batter was thick and stodgy with zero flavour. The mushy peas were very thick and tasted like marrow fat peas blended, not the true taste of mushy peas if that makes sense. The only decent tasting thing I had was my can of diet coke. I can honestly say 85% of that meal went in the bin. Over all I spent £25.70 for 1 person, and never really touched it.”

“Unfortunately one of the fish had hardly any meat on it. If I seen it being packed I would not have accepted. If your paying top dollar you expect a decent meal. Get it right next time chippy.”

“Absolutely terrible fish and chips. The chips were clearly not fresh and tasted like they were weeks old. The fish had a horrible, thin batter (not like it should be). Worst fish and chips we've had in ages. West Park do a much better chippy in the local area”

“Gluten free options not available when we went. Cant comment on that. Others had food. Portions were fine, chips tasty. Staff very polite.”
