About Nando's Peterborough
Nando's Peterborough is a peri-peri chicken restaurant at 4 Cathedral Square in Peterborough, part of a chain with Afro-Portuguese roots. The chicken is flame-grilled, and the sauces come in a range of heat levels. The menu includes a boneless platter pairing peri-peri butterfly chicken with lemon and herb thighs, and Caesar salads topped with either chicken or halloumi. This branch is halal. Diners help themselves to sauces and cutlery, and the seating is upstairs.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the flame-grilled chicken. One calls a quarter PERi-PERi chicken succulent and not dry, another found the lemon and herb thighs on a boneless platter juicier than the butterfly chicken, and a third says it was some of the best cooked chicken they have had from the chain. Close behind are the staff, described as friendly, welcoming and quick to serve, and two reviewers welcome that this branch is halal. The halloumi sticks with chilli jam, the pastel de nata and the new Saka sauce also draw praise. Complaints centre on portions and consistency. One reviewer describes a dish with a single small piece of chicken, and another found too many croutons and old lettuce in a Caesar salad. Others report most side dishes out of stock, a broken ice cream machine, and a room that was overcrowded and loud. One diner who complained at the table was told the salad held two pieces of chicken, which turned out to be one piece cut in half.

“Destiny and Maja did not serve me or my wife and had the audacity to ask for a review 😡. Food and service 3/5. Ice cream machine was not working today so 1 star off. 1 star off because Destiny asked to drop a review naming her.”

“Nando’s is in fact still cheeky😏. I haven’t dined in for some time and thought why not, you can never go wrong with a cheeky Nando’s when you feel like having a full meal that will for sure fill you up! I got in early after running a few errands and that gave me enough energy for most of the day and I didn’t feel hungry till the evening! Great value for money for sure. I got the halloumi sticks & chilli jam as a starter- 10/10. I also ordered a 1/4 chicken PERi- PERi Saka along side the new Saka sauce🔥🔥🔥 immaculate flavours. If you are from an opposing team— shh, no one will know 😉. I usually get boneless thighs, but this time the 1/4 came with the breast piece which was succulent and not dry. I paired my main meal with peri salted chips and rainbow slaw and a side of charred corn I’ve never tried. All together the meal and the flavours gelled really well. All seasoned to very well indeed. Sauces: PERinaise, wild herb and the new Peri- ketchup. I’m not the biggest ketchup fan but I’m looking forward to see if they will soon sell these in store! 🔥 I usually opt for a non- fizzy drink, depending on my mood. The RUBRO peach ice tea is all natural flavours and no additives 🤌🏾. Finally, I got the infamous pastel de nata. The cream is almost identical to the authentic Portuguese pastel de nata. I must say for a franchise I’m quite impressed. Nando’s is perfect for a solo one, date, family outing or even after work dinner💯. They also have seating upstairs for get togethers for any occasions. I believe reservations are required so make sure to enquire.”

“Yesterday was my bad experience when dine in when I ordered two cesar salads with chicken and one with halumii and two drinks. They charges 38£ for this order and what I got in cesar salad just too many croutons and old lettuce i never tried this kind of cesar salad i tried here 👍🏻”

“I just couldn’t stop laughing when that £10 dish came with a lonely baby-size piece of chicken in it and there was 6 times more space in the plate. I know it’s the cost of living crisis but this was taking it to an absolute extreme. It was literally 3 average human bites. I tried to cut it in smaller pieces, so I could pretend I was actually eating. Felt robbed, sorry. Chicken is around £4 per kilo, so I guess the chef used some posh secret Harry Potter spell on it to make it worth £10 per 50 grams (ie £200 per kilo). “Avoid avoid avoid forever” to me. PS Service - one of the men who served the food had the face expression of an MMA fighter just before an angry attack. The others were polite, but this guy must have been made extremely angry by something, unless that’s just the way he is. But I guess £200/kg doesn’t bring enough profit to the business to expect all friendly faces lol The one who took our order was quite alright, so my Service rate is the average of both - one was 0 and one was 5”

“Staff were lovely and considerate. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Im not the biggest Nando's fan, but this was hands down some of the best cooked Nandos chicken I have had. Well done Peterborough team!”
