“Ordered online was told to collect at 18.30, got there 5 mins early and was told it would be ready in a few minutes. Eventually got it at 19.00. Shambles!”

“I am a very picky little eater, most other chinese takeaways always somehow mess up my order after given clear instructions, they will make the chicken swim in sauce after i say no sauce, rice usually tastes off. BUT NOT FORTUNE STAR! me and my two older accomplices have been returning customers for quite some while now and i dont think that will change. the food is always very fresh, they havent messed up any orders for us, is well priced, whoever is at the counter is always friendly. there is many chinese takeaways in paisley and especially neilston rd, but this one takes the cake, or should i say dàngāo! -calvin the review guy”

“I've been a returning customer to fortune star for 2 years now, the food is normally good as well as the service, but after ordering today, ill never order from here again. I ordered for collection, drove 15 minutes there, 15 mins back only to find out they gave us someone else's order, mistakes happen and i get that, but had to drive back to collect my order and return the incorrect one so now its turned into almost an hour worth of driving for a £12.50 order. I get there, he apologises and i said its fine because again, mistakes happen, then he hands me my order, i get back to the car to double check its correct, i take out the first food item on top of the bag (chips) to check the items below are correct and the bag was so soggy it ripped and the food fell all over my lap and the floor of the car. went back in pretty peeved off at this point to get another bag to put the dropped food in. in the end: almost 1 hour of driving bag containing food burst open from being soaking wet soggy and stale floor chips all for just £12.50 All that was given was a "sorry" very disappointed today”

“Struggled to find a good Chinese ever since we moved to Paisley a couple of years ago. So glad to have discovered our new local. Food was excellent and fresh, piping hot. Best Chinese I’ve had in ages and has a set menu which is always my preference.”

Customer Review Summary

Salt and pepper chicken, salt and chilli chicken and curry are the dishes reviewers name most, and the praise centers on massive portions that arrive fresh and piping hot. Close behind is the counter staff, described as friendly and willing to modify a dish, with a few saying they have ordered here for years or since it opened. Shrimp chow mein and lemon chicken also get a good word, and one reviewer likes the set menu. The complaints are about order accuracy and timing. One collection order was handed over as someone else's, and the replacement came in a soggy bag that ripped and spilled chips across the car. A web order arrived very late with no confirmation, the soup leaked in the bag, the wontons tasted odd, and spicy ribs came instead of veg spring rolls. Another reviewer waited well past the promised collection time. The customer with the burst bag was given only a "sorry".
