About GRAND CENTRAL BAR
Grand Central Bar is a pub on Torbay Road in Paignton that opens from breakfast through the evening, running as a sports bar by day and a full pub menu into the night. The kitchen serves breakfasts, burgers, mac and cheese, and loaded fries, with a Sunday roast on the cards and a fish pie turning up as a special. A row of beers on tap sits behind the bar, and TVs carry live sports for the room. Dogs are welcome inside, and the counter takes walk-ins throughout the day. The space also works as a casual sit-down restaurant, with the same kitchen covering everything from morning plates to the evening line-up.

Customer Review Summary
Most who stop by return for the breakfast, with one calling it the best in town, and several praise the Sunday roast for its trimmings and attentive staff. The sports atmosphere and beer selection draw repeat visits, and diners note friendly service. One diner describes a disappointing loaded fry and cold burger, and another found the fish pie bland, while a few feel portions and flavour are generally solid.

“Food was brilliant - huge portion, well cooked, well seasoned and really tasty. Atmosphere was really nice, whilst the staff were all attentive and helpful. Highly recommend.”

“Great location, honest food. Come here for a sports event or a Sunday roast and you will not be disappointed. The special was a fish pie and the sauce was milk. Not white sauce but milk, no spinach or thick roux, no cheesy flavour. Fish, milk and salt and pepper. Accompanied by peas which were unseasoned. The Mac and cheese seemed to be split and was bland. The burgers are juicy and fat but bacon was soft and not cooked down enough. The roast comes with all the trimmings and I found the swede delightful and not sweet which is amazing as it can feel like a vegetable pudding. I hope this was an off day as staff were so polite but besides the roast and to some degree the burger, the food felt a bit flat.”
