About Whitebank Cafe
Whitebank Cafe is a cafe at 10 White Bank Rd in Oldham, where homemade curry with rice and chips sits alongside café staples like jacket potatoes and barms. The curry gives the kitchen a hot, plated option beyond the usual sandwich counter fare. Jacket potatoes include one served with chilli con carne, and the sausage, egg and cheese barm covers the breakfast end of the menu. The cafe opens Monday to Friday during the day only and closes on Saturdays and Sundays. Customers can eat in and order brews to go with their meal.

Customer Review Summary
Homemade curry with rice and chips is the dish reviewers raise most, with diners pointing to plenty of chicken in the sauce and portions big enough that one pair just about finished theirs. Close behind are the jacket potatoes, the chilli con carne with jacket potato, salt and pepper chicken and chips, and a full breakfast for two with brews. A sausage, egg and cheese barm also gets a mention as nice. Reviewers repeatedly call the food well priced for homemade cooking, and the staff come up often as friendly, chatty and lovely, with one describing the service as top class. One reviewer says the cafe is always clean. The one complaint is from a longtime regular who says the honey sriracha chicken and rice has recently turned ridiculously spicy, tasting like straight spice and practically inedible even after they asked in the order note for it to be made milder. Others describe leaving satisfied after a first-visit breakfast.

“Really used to enjoy this place but recently when ordering honey sriracha chicken and rice, it is ridiculously spicy. It does give the option to add a note and I usually ask them to not make it so spicy. It just tastes like straight spice which is a shame, thus making it practically inedible”
