About The Kitchen @ Lands' End Oakham
A self-service counter sits at the heart of The Kitchen @ Lands' End Oakham, a restaurant on Lands End Way beside the Lands' End outlet, where you browse the food and drink counter and build salad bowls priced by the weight on the plate. Breakfast is a regular part of the day, with a full English among the options, and lunchtime brings cooked meals including Schnitzel and Roast Chicken. On Thursdays the kitchen serves a roast dinner with a choice of three meats and a pick of vegetables. Cakes, puddings and sweets round out the counter alongside coffee and tea, with a Pear and Chocolate Desert among them. Food arrives on Denby Pottery crockery in an open, spacious dining area. No reservations are taken, so guests order at the counter and find a table. Dogs are welcome, and the toilets are located in the outlet next door. It trades daytime hours Monday to Saturday and closes on Sundays.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come back to The Kitchen for fresh, freshly cooked food at a price they call reasonable, with the Thursday roast and the breakfast singled out most. One describes a Sunday-style roast on a Thursday with a choice of three meats and plenty of vegetables, while another praises a full English breakfast. Close behind, diners mention fish and chips at Friday lunchtime, generous meat portions, and salad bowls priced by weight on the plate. Coffee, tea, puddings and sweets round out the choices, and a few note the outdoor seating. The staff are repeatedly called friendly and welcoming, and one regular says they always remember them, with another describing visits over many years at a consistently high standard. The one negative is a single-star review from a reviewer who says they were treated rudely and felt humiliated after asking questions about the food ingredients. Everyone else praises the value, and several say they have been returning regularly since their first visit.

“The Kitchen is undoubtedly one of the best lunchtime dining experiences around. The food is excellent, fresh and well-prepared. The meat portions are generous and, the service is provided by helpful and friendly staff. The icing on the cake is the cost, which makes regular visits both affordable and desirable. Great venue! Great value!”
