  “We had a mixed grill some sides and a steak and all of it was delicious, peppercorn gravy boat was to die for. Every team member that we interacted with was attentive and a delight to be served by. Would recommend 10/10”

  “Soulville used to be my number one food spot in Nottingham. Back in the day, the atmosphere was incredible, and the restaurant was always packed—it was often difficult to get a table. Unfortunately, in 2026, the place feels like it's lost its identity. The atmosphere is lacking, the restaurant feels cold and uninviting, and the food no longer tastes freshly prepared. On our recent evening visit, there were only six people dining inside, which says a lot compared to how busy it used to be. What also made the experience uncomfortable was that the waitresses were often standing around watching the dining area due to the lack of customers. It felt as though we were being watched while eating, which created a sense of pressure to finish our meal and leave rather than relax and enjoy the experience. The new ownership seems to have moved away from what made Soulville special in the first place. Soul food is about flavour, warmth, comfort, and community, and sadly that wasn't reflected in our experience. It's disappointing because this establishment has so much potential. With the right vision and investment, it could become a thriving destination once again. As things stand, however, I worry about its future if significant changes aren't made.”

  “The food was great. We had two burgers and they were cooked to perfection, juicy, tender and full of flavour. I loved the coleslaw as you can tell it was made in house and had a distinct flavour than store bought coleslaw. Generous portion of chips that we didn't get to finish and the whole plate was very filling. This steakhouse is a must if you come to Nottingham!”

  “Eaten here a couple of times recently. Food has been fresh and good quality on both occasions. Today we shared, for starters, a cheesey ciabatta that was soft and hot and light and a portion of breaded mushrooms which looked pretty. Then we both had the lamb dinner - again fresh, good quality ingredients, well and simply cooked and smartly presented. Staff are efficient, attentive and friendly.”

  “Lovely place, rather large portions served, I was looking at others people's food coming out and it all looked lovely and I would have eaten any of it, i had a mixed grill as I wanted to bring some back for my girls (dogs) it was massive and the girls enjoyed their treat :) table of 7, all had different and not a bad word to say. Cocktails ate lovely too”

  “Came here for my husband's 40th after recommendations from family (my grandparents come REGULARLY)! We were not disappointed. My husband loved the steak the sauce, the starters. The chicken and pork teriyaki was delicious! And the chicken and 3 way pork meal was divine. We had no complaints about food or service. We love the music and seeing posters and decor based on the artists was also good. The girls working were really kind and welcoming. Will definitely go back much more and can see why my Grandparents do!”

  “Probably our new favourite restaurant Great food, great portions and great music My dad said the ribs were cooked perfectly to fall off the bone and exactly how you’re meant to eat ribs The onion rings were great and the sweet potato fries had a good crisp :) Me and my dad loved the theme and style of the restaurant he was really in his element Excuse the photos of the food, they were taken after we’d eaten half the meals :’)”

  “I had the rib eye and it was a good amount of meat with nice char. The fries were pretty standard, I think they could up their game by frying them in beef tallow or something. The onion ring was pretty good, the mushrooms must have been cooked in steak fat because they were flavourful. The house BBQ and peppercorn sauces were nice but I wish a smaller quantity could be purchased. The dessert I had was good too. The strawberry Eton mess Sunday. The waiters could stand to be a bit more friendly, especially the bald guy.”

  “Fantastic service, the staff are all friendly and go above and beyond. Absolutely mind blowing food. It’s the best Fast service times and a friendly atmosphere. The wings fall off the bone. The lamb was cooked beyond perfectly. The home made sauces are better than I’ve tasted anywhere else. . Can’t find a single fault. We’ll definitely be returning!”
