About Bar + Block Steakhouse Nottingham
A 253-dish menu is the backbone of Bar + Block Steakhouse Nottingham, a steak house and bar on Chapel Bar in Chapel Quarter, running from breakfast plates through to burgers and steaks. Steak sits at the centre, with cuts such as a 14oz ribeye cooked to a requested doneness and sides chosen to order, from fries and onion rings to garlic mushrooms. Small plates open the meal, including a prawn plate and a chicken skewer, while sticky toffee pudding closes it. The bar mixes cocktails alongside the food, and a bottomless brunch runs as its own format. Breakfast covers back bacon rashers, premium sausages and hash browns, with meat-free versions of the bacon and sausage listed too. Waiting staff take drinks and food orders at the table, and the kitchen serves daily. Prebooked tables and group bookings are taken, and a braille menu is available for guests who need one.

Customer Review Summary
Steak is the draw, with several diners reporting it cooked exactly as ordered, one singling out a 14oz ribeye done medium rare and another the option to customise sides down to garlic mushrooms and salad in place of chips. Close behind are the cocktails, described as world class and the mojitos as spot on, plus a chicken skewer and a prawn small plate that reviewers call standouts. A group of five rate the bottomless brunch the best they have done. Praise for the floor staff recurs, including a lone waiter on a busy prebooked lunch whom one reviewer credits for keeping drinks and meals moving. The complaints are specific rather than general: overcooked onion rings and greasy fries on that same visit, a sticky toffee pudding called pretty rough, and steaks another pair found middling. One reviewer describes finding the toilets in an unclean state. Two mention an oddly empty room, one noting being alone in the restaurant on a Friday evening.

“We came here on the first night of our trip and was not disappointed, Tiffany was our Waitrose and was so friendly and accommodating. It was that delicious we returned the next 2 evenings ! We mainly ate the chicken skewer which was sensational and the steak melted in your mouth ! Will absolutely come back if we’re in the area !! Thank you Tiffany for making out evenings so lovely and looking after us so well Your mojitos were spot on also xx”

“Weird one, because I only had cocktails and dessert. Cocktails world class. Unfortunately, the sticky toffee pudding was pretty rough. Big shout out to Ella who served us though. My friends had mains and they were world class apparently. Overall, very enjoyable and would recommend if you love meat”
