About Gusto Italian - Nottingham
Gusto Italian - Nottingham is an Italian restaurant in Nottingham city centre at 29 Upper Parliament St, open daily. The menu runs through pasta, pizza, nibbles and starters, with seafood among the contemporary Italian dishes. Pizzas are made in an open kitchen that uses a wood-fired oven. The Margherita can be ordered with optional extras such as burrata or prosciutto. For birthdays, the restaurant offers a "pizza experience" led by a member of staff, which gives a celebration something to do beyond the meal itself. Sticky toffee pudding is on the menu for the end of the meal.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the pizzas and pasta, with reviewers describing the wood fired pizzas, a margherita topped with burrata or prosciutto, and the sticky toffee pudding as highlights, and several calling the food delicious and full of flavour. Close behind is the service, with a few describing the waitstaff as friendly and welcoming, and one server repeatedly credited for recommending dishes and drinks. The atmosphere is called great and relaxed, and the open kitchen is a favourite touch. Several visits were birthday celebrations, including a pizza experience. The criticism is mixed. One reviewer found the chicken pasta disappointing, saying a lower end pasta and chicken seemed to be used and that the bill for four felt overpriced, though the presentation and pudding were praised and they would recommend it only for drinks. Another reported that nobody checked on their table after seating, they had to ask for sauce themselves, and staff asked about the wine list on the spot. That same reviewer wanted fewer bread heavy vegetarian starters and noted that the main toilets are downstairs.

“What a great vibe and absolutely brilliant food! It was a wonderful experience, made even better by Nafiz, who was exceptional throughout the evening. He always made sure our food was up to standard, recommended some of the best dishes on the menu, and suggested great drinks to go with them. We honestly couldn’t have asked for better service !!! He really made our night! I’m already excited to come back. Highly recommend!”

“Had a fantastic experience at Gusto Italian. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was stylish yet relaxed, making it perfect for a family dinner or date night. Service was excellent throughout — friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing. The pizzas, pasta, and desserts were all spot on. Definitely one of the best dining experiences in Nottingham. Highly recommended!”

“This was a hard one. A New restaurant for us and I was super excited! A great location first of all, allowing you to either drive into Nottingham, get the bus, taxi or an Uber, either way, easily accessible by all means. The exterior is very well decorated giving a nice warm welcome. The welcome is very nice, professional and courteous. The interior decor is excellent, enhancing your experience and setting a higher level of ‘boujeeness’. The atmosphere is great and not too loud too. The tables have a good distance between them. I loved everything about Gusto from the service, decor, atmosphere, vibe and ambiance. BUT, then came the food. The presentation of the food is faultless, absolutely wonderful. However, once I’d tucked into my Pasta with chicken it wasn’t all that great. I like to be someone who can’t cook the dish myself hence I go out and pay for it. It was nice and I enjoyed it but it was not worth the money at all. It was evident a lower end of pasta was used and chicken too. I almost felt it was just taken from ‘Iceland’ and served on a plate 🍽️. We all said the food was nice, but with a £210 bill for 4 of us, it’s most definitely over priced!!! The pudding was divine, never had anything like it! The service by our waitress was exceptional, she is an asset to Gusto. Absolutely phenomenal service by her, Thank you. Would I return, not anytime soon. Would I recommend Gusto, yes, but only for drinks. Thank you for looking after us. Thank you for the Gusto experience. 💫”
