About YAK & YETI
Yak & Yeti is an Asian fusion restaurant on Wollaton Rd in Nottingham, with a menu of 44 dishes spanning momos, tandoori grills and more. The momo selection includes classic vegan, chicken and vegetable versions alongside chili chicken momos. The tandoori section brings chicken tikka, lamb chops and malai chicken tikka, several marked gluten free, with prawn puri also on offer. The kitchen runs daily, giving diners a consistent window to work through the range across visits. With no distinguishing service details beyond the menu itself, the focus here sits squarely on the dishes, from steamed momos to grilled tandoori plates, offering a spread wide enough to move between lighter starters and heartier mains in a single sitting.

Customer Review Summary
Curries draw the most consistent praise, with reviewers repeatedly calling out superb curries and one diner naming the best chicken biryani they'd had in Nottingham. Close behind, the onion bhaji gets a specific mention as a standout starter, and a home delivery order of curry with rice, chips and naan is described as hot and tasty on arrival. Several reviews highlight attentive, friendly staff, including one occasion where heaters were brought out for a table feeling the chill, and vegan options were talked through clearly for one group. One dissenting account describes bland food likened to chicken in tomato soup, paired with a complaint that an advertised takeaway discount actually reflected inflated menu prices rather than a real saving. Beyond that, diners across large family groups and smaller tables describe generous portions and dishes that tasted fresh and individual.

“Wonderful food, great atmosphere and attentive hosts! Very helpful with communicating which menu items were vegan and we were spoilt for choice. Everything tasted amazing.”

““We decided to try this restaurant because of the sign plastered on the side of the building advertising a 20% discount on takeout. However, upon arrival, we discovered they use a separate takeout menu with prices inflated by 20%. It wasn’t a discount at all—it was actually slightly more expensive than dining in. We decided to proceed anyway, but the food was incredibly bland, tasting essentially like chicken mixed with Heinz tomato soup. Despite the good service, the deceptive pricing and poor food quality made for a very disappointing experience.””

Highlights
“Tucked away in the heart of Beeston, Yak & Yeti offers a warm, welcoming taste of the Himalayas. The restaurant combines the charm of Nepalese hospitality with the elegance of fine dining, creating a space where friends, families, and food lovers can slow down and savour something special. The setting draws inspiration from the calm beauty of the mountains—earthy tones, soft lighting, and Himalayan-inspired décor come together to create a relaxed, intimate atmosphere. At the centre of it all is our signature Gurkhali Chicken—marinated in traditional spices and cooked with care, it’s rich, fragrant, and full of depth, much like the culture it comes from. Come and visit our restaurant for the complete Indo-Nepalese fine dining experience!”
