Customer Review Summary

Bánh mi is the most frequent draw, with reviewers praising the chicken version, the motherclucka and "the works", often noting a large serving size. Close behind are the matcha drinks, especially the cherry blossom matcha and a strawberry Freddo matcha, plus the Vietnamese coffee, served as drip coffee or with condensed milk. The pandan cheesecake and pandanimisu also earn praise, along with a rotating case of unique cakes. Most describe the staff as friendly and kind, though two reviewers found them cold and unfriendly when taking orders. Long waits for cooked food recur, even when the cafe is only half full, and the small room has little seating, so one reviewer suggests going at quieter times. One reviewer calls the matcha bland. Steak dishes, including the Egg Steak Frites that one couple keeps returning for, are another draw, yet a diner reports that every steak option had sold out at midday on a Friday.

“Absolutely loved our time at Boulangerie de Saigon - we couldn’t stop raving about how delicious their speciality drinks were! The pandanimisu and pandan lemonade were excellent and so was the classic Vietnamese coffee. Banh mi’s were also great and a large serving size though the wait was around 20-25 mins. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Nottingham!”

“Tucked away, very quiet, almost felt like a library to be honest 🤣 Amazing coffee, very nice food just disappointed that they had ran out of all steak options (bring their main selling point) at midday on a random Friday...”

“From the outside, this place may seem unassuming. But inside this cafe there is a treasure trove of delicious food and drink that is sure to satisfy your tastebuds. We have been back here multiple times, just to have the coveted Egg Steak Frites. They are on the pricey side especially for their serving size but the chimichuri sauce and perfectly cooked steak has us coming back for more. They also have a rotating selection of baked goods on display which are also top notch. The pandan cheesecake was especially delicious and we definitely recommend it. Do note there is a longer wait time for the cooked dishes, which the staff will mention before you order. This can be up to 30 minutes so keep that in mind when coming to dine here. In our opinion, the food is worth the wait! The restaurant itself is pretty small inside, which makes it difficult to accommodate larger groups, so if you plan to visit with a party size bigger than 3, be prepared to wait for seating or get takeaway as the location is pretty busy especially on weekends!!”

“Matcha may be too bland but the food is absolutely beautiful. Lots of taste and smell in one bite. It’s a small cafe and not many seats, you might have to avoid during busy time like lunch. Plus, it takes a bit of time to wait for food. Not all staffs are nice, even they have only 2-3 people so do not expect much on the service.”
