About Bobbers Mill Transport Cafe
Bobbers Mill Transport Cafe works in the greasy-spoon tradition, serving a caff crowd of workmen, tradespeople and truck drivers from 4-6 Nuthall Road in Nottingham. Doorstep sandwiches anchor the order sheet, with the SOS pairing sausage and tomato, and other fillings running to bubble and fried eggs. A traditional full English breakfast comes with toast and tea, and a vegetarian version stands alongside it for anyone skipping the meat. Service runs on a walk-in basis, so there is no need to book a table. The kitchen operates Monday to Saturday during the daytime, with the cafe closed on Sundays. A step-free entrance keeps the room reachable for visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs mean families with young children can sit down for breakfast together. Seating outside gives another option for eating in the open air.

Customer Review Summary
Diners return most for the sausage and tomato doorstep sandwich, which several name alongside the full breakfast and a bubble and fried egg doorstep. Reviewers describe a proper English greasy spoon full of workmen and truck drivers, with food that arrives piping hot and freshly cooked, and a fried egg and bacon that one reviewer found good. Staff are repeatedly called friendly or lovely, and a few call the place spotlessly clean. Several describe the prices as cheap or reasonable, though one notes it is not the cheapest around. Some reviewers have been coming for years. The criticisms are specific. One reviewer found the sausages let down an otherwise good full breakfast and would pay extra for a Cumberland. Another reports staff moaned about moving the salt and pepper pot, and says they were charged for a plastic knife and fork. A third says the woman clearing tables swears at customers. One reviewer calls the vegetarian breakfast great, and another loved the chipped plate as part of the greasy spoon character.

“I went here for a breakfast date with my dad who assured me that it was great food here. I was sceptical as not been before, but I loved it! Food was good, staff were lovely and other customers had a chat with my dad who loves to chat with anyone! Will definitely be returning!”

“Yes yes yes! This is a proper English greasy spoon cafe. Full of work men and truck drivers. Loved it! They did my favourite doorstep sandwich Bubble and fried eggs! Cheap food. Piping hot and well cooked. Nice staff. Wish i was more local 😎 I even loved the fact the plate was chipped. No room for snowflakes in this place haha”

“My Aunty bar worked here in the 1970s for many years and we always came in for a sos on the way to watch forest. I've visited periodically over the years and always superb. Yesterday I had the SOS and tomato splash....lovely. took some photos and had some fun with Ai”

“Its a cafe ideal for any trade, and others of course. I used to come here years ago, so it was long overdue for another visit. Its spacious, clean and tidy. I gather they've just been re-decorated inside. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had the full breakfast with toast and tea. It was all served promptly and was freshly cooked. The fried egg and bacon were good. Tomatoes nice and hot with warm buttered toast. The only item that let it down was the quality of the sausages. Hence a star rating dropped. For me a good sausage makes my breakfast. If I visit again I would go for a vegetarian version, but then thats not quite the same. I'd happily pay a little extra for say a Cumberland sausage. Car parking just outside free on the road for up to 2 hours.”

“Very friendly staff, excellent food, nice atmosphere! The prices were very reasonable - £6.30 for my breakfast.”
