  “Great food, attentive staff. Pations are very generous, so resist the urge to order one of everything. Would highly recommend. Spices are an add on, which makes most dishes suitable for kids. My 7YO son loved the chicken.”

  “I am a fan of Turkish food and subsequently looked forward to my first visit having experienced all the other similar restaurants in Norwich. Being the designated car driver for my party, I was specific in odering a pint of iced water. The waiter produced a bottle of still water with two tumblers containing a few lumps of ice which made no sense when ordering for myself, especially as fellow diners had already been served whilst I parked the car. In my view this is a deliberate and successful attempt to profit from the request. Especially as £6.05 for the bottle which included service is extortionate and was added to my bill for what was an obvious waiter error. He did partially rectify the embarrassment and without request, delivering a tray of water tumblers to the remaining 12 diners. The food was well presented. I had mixed kofte and also tried some marinated chicken pieces. The meat was tasty and well spiced although in all cases, aggressively salted. Salt consumption is continually being reduced in people's diets which made this situation more noticeable. The salt was unfortunately overpowering. Salt and pepper was on the table so there is no need to add so much prior to service. The dining area was light and airy on this pleasant summer's day, however I suggest the cleaning team plays great attention to the presentation of the stairwell and loo doors as they have been neglected for some time. This lack of attention leads the mind to question other areas of the premises. Hospitality is a tough gig and hardwork. I was not aware of a five minute check or given the opportunity to feedback after the meal, hence my post.”

  “What a absolute GEM that we discovered on our visit to Norwich. It was very busy...but the host went above and beyond to get us a table. Our waitress Ria was a breath if fresh air. So pleasant and witty yet professional. The FOOD was delightful. Had the BBQ Mixed Grill. Each mouthful was just Mmmm...!!! The meat grilled to perfection and rice and salad was lovely! The cocktail was generous and tasty! We're looking forward to coming back on our next visit to Norwich. Wishing Gem of Norwich continued success in the future!”

  “Probably my 5th visit to GEM now and it never disappoints! Incredible atmosphere, amazing service and delicious food every time. I didn’t catch our server’s name, but she was blonde and very tanned and absolutely incredible, so friendly and attentive. Thank you, GEM!”
