About Coco Café
Breakfast leads the morning at Coco Café, an independent cafe on St Peter's Walk in Northampton, where the Large English Breakfast arrives with sausage, bacon, mushrooms, tomato, hash browns and buttered toast. The kitchen bills its smashed avo with poached eggs as Smashed and Seasoned, and that dish shares the menu with a Philly steak sandwich, so lighter and heartier appetites are both covered through the day. Coffee and tea run alongside the food. Tables are taken on a walk-in basis, with the owner and the team serving at the table, and the doors open daily. A step-free entrance keeps the cafe reachable for visitors with mobility needs, while high chairs make space for families with young children. Outdoor seating gives the option of eating in the open air, and dogs are welcome. An indoor seating area covers the rest of the year.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast anchors the praise at Coco Café, led by the avocado on toast with eggs, which one reviewer calls fresh and tasty with "no sloppy green mush", and the Large English Breakfast, where the mushrooms with oregano and the not overly salty bacon stand out. Close behind is the coffee, with reviewers singling out the flat white, the cappuccino and an iced latte, while tea drinkers call the drinks really good and nicely made. Lunch gets credit too: a chicken club sandwich with juicy chicken and unusual coleslaw, a generous Greek salad, a soup of the day with a generous portion, and a Philly steak sandwich. The red velvet cake is described as on point. Reviewers repeatedly describe a cosy, welcoming room and friendly service, with the owner and a waiter singled out for kindness. Several mention working from a table thanks to the great wifi, and no one raises a complaint. One diner notes the chicken club sandwich came out in just under 10 minutes, and another says the service never felt rushed.

“I tried the food at Coco Cafe for the first time yesterday after walking past and seeing the cafe so many times. I ordered the chicken club sandwich and an iced latte. I was so surprised on how good it was. Everything was so very fresh, the chicken in the sandwich was so juicy, the coleslaw was unique and had great flavour and the side salad was so fresh and tasty. I was genuinely not expecting such excellence. I sat outside and was pleased to know I could do some work with the great wifi connection. The service was excellent from the owner, and the food came out in just under 10 minutes. Very happy with my experience at Coco Cafe and I look forward to trying the rest of the menu and spending productive days there”

“Great little cafe and from our experience deserves more attention. Popped in on work travels in need of a break and something tasty and we weren't disappointed. Solid range of cafe classics and alternative treats. Greek salad (generous and delicious) and Smashed and Seasoned (smashed avo, poached eggs, perfectly done) alongside a couple of drinks. Top value as well, definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.”

“I don’t live in Northampton but was looking for somewhere for breakfast whilst I charged my car nearby. Feel compelled to tell everyone how good the avocado on toast with eggs was. Best I’ve had - I’m not sure what the chef put in/on the dish but it was so fresh and tasty. No sloppy green mush here. Great flat white also. A lovely independent cafe with WiFi so I could do some work too.”
