  “We are here often, the staff are always super friendly, today we had a bigger order I couldn’t carry them all the lovely lady which I believe was the lady in pic helped me carry it across the road even though shop was busy…. We were ever so grateful the pics don’t do the food justice but yum 7 of us love it there, and will be returning thank you!! Sorry we didn’t take more pics 🙈 thank you all for your service 👏”

  “Visited North Shields fish quay, Waterfront fish and chips. Had scampi for a change and my first time trying a smoky in the north east... The chip shops are much better up here! Really nice chips and scampi was delicious. also got a pizza”

  “Proper fish and chips, was lush fast service from friendly staff and the food was amazing. Will definitely be back here again, can recommend here if you are in the area and want traditional fish and chips with great flavour.”

  “Sorry this did used to be good but over the last couple of years got worse we leave going to see if it improves. Went today very greasy no taste and poo in the king prawn which was all slimed inside the batter when I bit into it. They knocked a couple of pound off but my partner fish dry batter sloppy and greasy chips were dry and not warm the food was just as bad a year ago the last time me and my partner went in we thought we would try again see if the food any better. Lovely staff and very clean but not sure why the queues because it’s not that good am afraid for the prices the charging aswell sorry just being honest !”

  “Lovely meal out. They had a great offer on £10 for big fish and chips comes with drink and side option. Had 8 people family out with 2 dogs. They moved tables about for us. Very accommodating. Loads of food options. Some of us had pizza, jacket potato. Good stop, been there since I was a kid, don’t know many others surviving so long now.”

  “Very traditional chippy but with some excellent "exotic" additions. Halibut being the one i chose which was sadly not available. We'd gone for the sea food boil (available Fri-Sun) which was a bucket list item for my wife. Have to say when it came, even though we'd told the waitress it was for 2, it is really a one person serving. That's what the missing star is for. But the did itself was flawless, the batter in my cod was crispy, the fish delicious and obviously fresh. My Uncle enjoyed his haddock and my Mum said her prawn salad was delicious. Service was quick and the place was heaving. Booking isn't an option so get there at opening 11.30 or later lunch time. When we left at 13.30 the queue was out the door. But be warned if you want a lobster he may not have one early on. Parking is plentiful mid week winter but almost impossible at peak times. The closest parking is limited to 2 hours and we did see a warden. Steps up to the door and really there's no real space for a wheelchair. This place as become a definitely 'will return to' venue.”

  “My halibut must have been shocked to have been swimming around in the North Sea this morning and then being served to me at lunchtime. My wife’s cod had a shocked look too. We had the over 60’s special and I’m glad as that was enough food for mid day. The fish and chips were first class, absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. The mushy peas were up there with the best I’ve had. I’d go back tomorrow if I had a bigger belt but going back in a couple of weeks will have to suffice.”

  “Visited here today for the first time and I have to say this is by far one of the best Fish & Chips restaurants I have been to. The Fish Bites Chips & Garden Peas I had were delicious & so tasty & the portion size of the Regular Fish were great too. I had the Biscoff Ice cream Sundae it was amazing. The staff were friendly & helpful. Will definitely be back again.”

  “Delicious, fresh fish and chips with plenty of tables to sit in. Large portions and a great selection, including traditional sides such as pickled eggs/onions, cockles, and muscles! Staff are lovely and attentive. I recommend the plaice if you enjoy a little extra flavour in your fish - lush!”
