Quick info
About Mii & U Oriental
Mii & U Oriental is a Chinese restaurant on Central House in Milton Keynes, attached to an Asian grocery store next door. Diners pay at the counter when ordering, and the kitchen sits open to the dining area. The menu runs to about 76 dishes, spanning Cantonese cooking and ramen noodles, with juices such as mango, guava and lychee alongside, and portions are served in large sizes. A step-free entrance suits visitors with mobility needs, high chairs are on hand for families with young children, and outdoor seating adds extra space for dining outside. Takeaway boxes for leftovers carry an extra charge. Reservations are recommended, though a wait for a table is common on weekends, and the restaurant sits on an industrial estate with its own car park. It opens Monday to Saturday and closes on Sundays.

Customer Review Summary
Generous portion sizes anchor most accounts of Mii & U Oriental, with reviewers repeatedly noting that a single main is plenty and that leftovers routinely go home in extra containers. Beneath that, specific dishes draw praise: the roast duck and char siu pork with rice, the kimchi pork ramen and its "richer broth," the Thai Style Egg Fried Rice, and the BBQ pork spare ribs. Several also single out the wok-fried Hofun as a standout even amid otherwise mixed meals. A recurring complaint is the wait, diners describe orders taking 30 to 50 minutes to arrive and dishes for the same table coming out staggered, sometimes leaving one person eating alone after others finished. Many also compare the open-kitchen noise, with staff shouting orders to cooks, to "a school cafeteria," and a few flag the extra charge for take-home boxes or ice as irritating. One reviewer reports receiving a Pad Thai with raw, pink-tinged chicken, for which the restaurant refunded both orders. Praise for the family-run staff's friendliness and the attached grocery shop appears throughout as well.

“I was so looking forward to coming to this restaurant as I used to be a regular. It has completely changed - and not in a good way. The food was awful. I ordered Pad Thai. The chicken was raw and the whole dish has a pink sheen to it. The service was terrible. The whole experience was dreadful. They gave us our money back for the two Pad Thais we ordered but I was so disappointed. The price of the food was ridiculously high.”

“Our favourite spot in Milton Keynes, and a true hidden gem. We recommend it to everyone - it's our go to spot for a fun date night, impromptu Saturday lunch, family dinner, you name it. Tucked away at the end of a road on an industrial estate, you'll probably wonder if your sat nav has brought you to the wrong place. It hasn't. Just look for the line of cars snaking through the car park.. everyone's there for the same reason you are! Thankfully, there's plenty of parking. The food is always fantastic. The menu is huge, everything is cooked fresh, and the specials are always worth checking out. That being said.. their Tonkotsu Pork Ramen is my absolute favourite (10/10 highly recommend). Once you've finished eating, you can wander next door and stock up on ingredients to recreate your meal at home. Want a Costco-sized sack of almost any rice you can think of? They've got it. A gallon of soy sauce? They have a whole aisle. Freezers packed with dim sum? Absolutely. Rice bowls with Shiba Inus on them? Tick. That childhood sweet you haven't seen since you were a kid in Hong Kong? Tick, tick, tick. What really makes Mii & U special, though, is the people. It's run by a lovely local family, who you'll often see behind the cookers, working in the shop, or chatting with customers. The service is always warm, friendly and efficient. And one final bonus: if you're anything like me and still want spicy food in the middle of a heatwave, you'll be very grateful for the air conditioning! We always leave with a full stomach, a bag full of ingredients, and plans for our next visit. Couldn't recommend it more highly.”

“Great food at affordable prices. The portions are massive so I recommend bringing containers in case you don't finish. If you go on a Saturday for lunch or dinner be prepared to wait a bit, but it's well worth the wait.”

“The customer service here was completely unfair and poorly managed. As soon as we ordered, it felt like we were singled out and made to go to the counter and pay immediately. Meanwhile, we observed that tables around us with older individuals were permitted to order normally and pay at the end of their meals. Despite making us pay upfront, the kitchen completely mismanaged our order. A table next to us ordered after we did but received their food 30 minutes before us. My own meal arrived 15 minutes after the rest of my table. The portions were large but the food did not even taste great, the people who I ate with described the food almost microwave meal like and heavily salted. Most of us didn’t finish our meals as it was not appetising. The food is slightly cheaper but for a few pounds extra you can get higher quality food and more attentive service at Kam Tong in great holm. It was a deeply uncomfortable experience and would not recommend going here.”

“I would give this restaurant a five star for food (which I didn’t get to eat due to my reasons below) - it dropped a lot of points with the atmosphere and service. In regards to the atmosphere, it was unbearably noisy! I physically left with a banging headache. This was not due to customers this was due to the staff member behind the tills (apparently this is how they communicate with the chefs) but it honestly made me not want to return to this place. It was so loud and made our experience terrible to the point where I had to pay for Tupperware and leave. I didn’t eat until I got home and took some tablets. It was honestly like a school cafeteria. I gave 3 stars for the service just due to the staff forgetting to come back which is completely understandable as they were very busy and not enough staff. I was also told I had to pay 30p for ice which I think is ridiculous! It’s been a while since I’ve been here but I personally wouldn’t return now due to the noise.”
