Quick info
About Lavvin
Lavvin is a Mediterranean bar and grill at 40 West St in Marlow, with a dark-toned interior and a cocktail bar. The menu opens with hot starters and moves on to mains that include lamb and steak. Cocktails are made at the bar, so the dining room has a drinks option alongside the food. The tables nearest the bar sit close to the action, and a quieter area is set toward the back. The kitchen prepares its dishes fresh in house, desserts included.

Customer Review Summary
The Sunday roast draws the strongest praise, with one regular calling it to die for and another already planning a return to try it, and hot starters get similar mentions. Close behind are a lamb that melted in the mouth, a steak described as out of this world, and a raspberry cheesecake that reviewers say tasted fresh and made in house. One diner also found the gnocchi with pea shoots good. Cocktails are called well made and delicious, and the wine is described as great. Staff come across as friendly, attentive and helpful across most reviews. The one recurring complaint is noise: a diner seated near the cocktail bar had to pause conversation every time the shaker was used, which was often, and suggests asking for a table nearer the back. Another found the room lively but not loud. Several came for anniversaries and birthdays, and one couple was fitted in at the last minute after a booking elsewhere fell through.

“Excellent food and service would highly recommend. Our only issue was we found it very noisy. Not helped by our table being close to the cocktail bar so conversation had to stop every time the Shaker was used, which was a lot. On the plus side the cocktails were delicious. We wll return but request a table nearer the back where it appeared quieter”

“An app I use found this restaurant by counting calories from my photo. The gnocchi with pea shoots was good and fit my low daily allowance with a normal portion size. The service was efficient and the room felt relaxed.”

“What a fabulous restaurant and a great find! From the moment we walked in the staff were very attentive and friendly and made us feel really welcome. As for the food, it’s just incredible, all the dishes were top tier and the steak was out of this world. The cocktails were very well made. As for cleanliness the whole restaurant is spotlessly clean and well looked after. I’d definitely eat here all the time if I were a local. Thank you Lavvin making our 5th Wedding Anniversary celebrations so memorable.”
