About Taste Social
Taste Social is a Chinese restaurant and cocktail bar in Market Harborough, on St Mary's Rd, and has been running for more than 10 years. The kitchen serves Chinese tapas, with pan-Asian small plates that arrive in small bowls so a table can share several dishes. “Initially reluctant to try here due to mixed reviews but have been a few times over the last year and food always good and the staff are really polite. The restaurant itself, I feel, needs a bit of tlc.”

“Nothing special. 'Tapas' style Chinese food. Take your average Chinese restaurant or takeaway menu, serve it in small bowls and charge £6 to £7 per dish. Waitress advised that most customers order 4 to 5 dishes each...bet they do.”

“We were so excited to try it out! But the food was so bland, chopsticks is better than taste special. We had high hopes but ended up getting two drinks and two small starters which were quite average. And that all was 30 pounds we ended up leaving and went to another place instead. The environment and atmosphere was horrible sadly there was a group of people who were very inconsiderate. Overall not good. Everything was very underwhelming”

“5 stars for everything. We had no idea where to eat, having never been to the area. Walked past. Bustling inside (Saturday at just before 2pm). Very friendly staff. Nice facilities, fast service. 10/10 food at amazing price. Will recommend to family in the area!”

“The food was very mediocre. I'm amazed that people talk of this place so highly. The meat in the meat balls and risole was disgusting, it was like dog food. The noodles were bland, the dumplings were served without soy sauce so were also bland. The crispy beef wasn't bad, a little dry but fair enough. The aubergine was so salty it was almost inedible. When asked if our food was OK I told them it was very low quality, and the waitress supposedly told the kitchen. Not a word said to me about it again. They clearly don't care. It's no wonder Han is empty, its because the food is poor. You can't re-dress the same thing, serve smaller portions for more money and expect people to be happy about it. There's numerous local Chinese take aways that do better food so I've no idea why anyone would want to go here.”
