Quick info
About The Devonshire
The Devonshire is a gastropub on Rectory Rd in Mansfield, set in a village a few minutes' drive from Poulter Country Park. The kitchen cooks home-style food and sources locally where possible. A Sunday roast is served with pork or a pork-and-beef duo among the choices, and a midweek menu runs alongside the Sunday one. The dessert menu includes a cornflake tart with pink custard, and the staff point diners toward the puddings, with sticky toffee pudding among them. Meals come with table service, and the team checks in on diners through the meal. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the Sunday roast, with one praising the pork and another the pork and beef duo, both described as exceptional, with good portions and plenty of veg. Close behind is the attentive, friendly service, with several noting staff who never needed chasing for drinks, food or the bill, and who made recommendations that landed well. Desserts come up repeatedly, including the sticky toffee pudding, and the cornflake tart with pink custard, which one reviewer calls gorgeous. One reviewer also praises the calf liver as soft, melting in the mouth and still slightly pink. Diners describe a warm, welcoming, cosy atmosphere where conversation is easy, and several came for birthday meals. The one reservation is from a reviewer who found the food too fancy and too seasoned for their taste, though they still ate and enjoyed the pudding. Another reviewer jokes that elastic waist trousers are needed, especially if having a pudding.

“Decided to try here on the recommendation of others. Was not disappointed. I had the pork and partner had the duo (pork and beef). Both were exceptional. Good size portions and plenty of veg for 2. Quick service and lovely staff. Was busy but not overcrowded. Atmosphere was pleasant and could hold a conversation with ease. If you're looking for an exceptional Sunday lunch,I would definitely try this place”
