Customer Review Summary
Reviewers consistently highlight the riverside setting overlooking the Thames, with several calling out the view alongside standout dishes like the Barnsley Chop with creme brulee, prawns to start, and gnocchi with spinach sauce. Breakfast and Sunday roast draw repeat mentions, though a few note the roast only starts after 10:45am. Vegetarian and plant-based options such as a veggie curry also earn praise for freshness. Service is described as attentive and friendly across most visits, making for occasions like anniversary dinners, though one reviewer reports an unfriendly encounter with a bartender on an otherwise usually good experience. Parking comes up repeatedly as a minor drawback, with reviewers directing each other to a public car park a short walk away. Visits often end with diners planning a return, including one who came back twice in the same week for the Sunday dinner.

“Breakfast was great with a splendid view. We originally came for the Sunday roast, but arrived too early. The roast is only available after 10:45am. However alls good with the good food, and great view, couldn’t ask for more. Staffs are great at what they are doing even when it got crowded!”

“We had a wonderful dining experience at The Boathouse at Boulters Lock. For starters, I had the prawns, which were absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavour. For my main course, I chose the fish, and it was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. What really made our visit special was the exceptional service from Connie. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and welcoming throughout the evening, making sure everything was perfect for us. Her warm and professional approach truly enhanced our experience. Great food, beautiful atmosphere, and outstanding service. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable meal.”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
