  “Excellent hairdresser. Been going to Adam’s for 18 years. Would only change hairdresser if forced to. Great place to relax while you get your hair cut. Great music oscillating between hip hop, jazz, reggae, dub and house.”

  “I have always struggled with styling my own hair and knowing what’s best, I said this to Adam, before we started, Adam sat me down and told me where I was going wrong and what he could do to improve my look and suggested what to do. It has been 4 weeks since and my hair looks 10 times better and grown out much better. Well worth the price, best barbers iv been to yet”

  “I’ve had my haircut by Adam James ever since he opened his first shop in Queens Road Buckhurst Hill in about 1997. He has always give me an exceptional cut. He never uses electric trimmers, he’s all about scissor over comb. A true artisan and an exceptional craftsman. He takes huge pride in his work and it shows. His shop had always been more than a place to get a haircut. It’s a destination. The atmosphere is understated cool and always with great sounds playing. He’s one of life’s energetic, funny, considerate, erudite people. Conversations take unexpected turns and are always an utter delight! Something I always look forward to. I’m summary, I got a terrific haircut, great chat and a lovely place to get it done in. There’s nothing but to like. Best of luck in the new location on Loughton High Road. Even better than y to her old place.”

With Adam it’s the whole experience experience which is unique. Adam James is bright, sensitive and crazy, and by the way the music is awesome.   “Adam James has been cutting my hair for over ten years now. He does a first rate job, provides good styling advice and sells a range of excellent and reasonably priced hair products (but isn't pushy about this at all). I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a great haircut in a relaxed atmosphere.”

  “My first appointment was yesterday for a long overdue haircut, and since I couldn't travel to my regular, decided to visit Adam James. James is obviously very passionate about his craft and it shows in the way he handles himself towards his clients, he takes an active role in making sure whoever sits in the chair is comfortable and will offer his opinion of what will and will most likely not work for the look you are going for. It was refreshing to see the personal attention James gives to everyone that comes in, especially in an industry that has become over saturated in recent years with haircutters becoming more corporate-orientated and wanting to get as many people in and out of the chair as possible. I will definitely be returning for my next, most likely, long overdue haircut.”

Adam is a friendly, welcoming and personable guy, who has created a contemporary and a relaxed environment for a great overall haircut experience. He plays great music adding to the vibe and loves to chat and have a bit of banter with clients. Adam is a talented professional with a great eye for detail which makes all the difference.   “Adam has cut my hair for almost 20 years (I am now 48), I now live almost 50 miles away but still return every month, he is that good (but please don't tell him that). He is as flexible as possible with appointments and works late most nights so as to fit everyone in. Book ahead as he is popular and has many loyal customers. I'll never forget a few years ago when he prioritised me over one of his local celebrity customers who tried to get a walk in appointment as he was on TV that night. My daughter who is six years old and often comes with me to Adam's on Saturdays has already said she wants Adam to cut her son's hair !! So, go to Adam's and get a haircut that spans the generations !!”
