About Vinoteca Di Sartoria - City
Vinoteca Di Sartoria - City is a wine bar and wine shop at 21 Bloomberg Arcade in London, across from Cannon Street station. The list runs to over 200 wines from around the world, which guests can drink by the glass or buy as a bottle to take home. Seasonal Italian dishes come alongside the wine, with arancini as a starter, carbonara as a main and tiramisu for dessert. Lunch includes a set menu, with a Celebration Set Menu among the options. The private mezzanine is enclosed but still part of the restaurant, and it hosts groups for corporate dinners and celebrations. The bar is open Monday to Friday and closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Tables can be booked through The Fork or the Evolv Rewards app.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the starters and the wine list, naming mozzarella arancini and croquettes best paired with a good glass, and one diner calls the steak delicious. Pasta carbonara divides opinion: one reviewer praises crispy guanciale and a creamy, cheesy sauce, while another calls it bog standard for the price. The tiramisu is called delicious by one lunch visitor, but another was told it had run out and was offered no substitute. Friendly hostesses and a bartender who made a drink to order earn praise. The private mezzanine draws repeat mentions for corporate dinners, described as enclosed yet keeping the restaurant's atmosphere, though one group found their area dim and hot and the vegetarian options lackluster. The main recurring complaint is service lapses. A set menu fizz only arrived after being requested, and an Evolv Rewards status went unrecognised at the bill. One reviewer describes staff avoiding eye contact while guests tried to order, then the wine being forgotten, so the cheese board and arancini sat on the table with nothing to drink.

“Table booked for lunch using the Evolv Rewards App. I went for the Celebration Set Menu which included a glass of English fizz. The wine did not arrive after ordering , and when my starter appeared I had to ask for the fizz. My starter of squid with chilli jam was fine. The main course of pasta carbonara was excellent, crispy guanciale and a lovely creamy, cheesy sauce. I was asked if I’d like dessert and was presented with the menu, which consisted of three options: chocolate cake, ice cream, or Tiramisu. I ordered the Tiramisu, only then to be informed it was not available. No other third option was offered so I declined dessert. If you advertise a set menu with three options for each course, it does seem rather mean to only offer two for dessert with no third substitute. When I asked for the bill, my Evolv Rewards status had not been recognised so I had to wait for a manager to address this. Not a terrible experience, but more disappointing than anticipated.”

“Great city lunch spot. They have a perfect set menu option that everyone enjoyed. Extra points for the delicious tiramisu. Lovely outside area in the middle of the city. Will pop in again.”

“Shocking service which translates into a poor experience for the customer, and lower revenues (and less repeat business) for the bar. This place has all the hallmarks of a badly run operation: there didn't seem to be anyone in charge, and staff urgently need some training. We waited for over ten minutes to order drinks, and were close to walking out. During that time I observed multiple staff setting tables, polishing glasses, chatting and wandering around aimlessly avoiding eye contact with customers. Meanwhile we couldn't relax and chat (the point of going out) because we were constantly on the lookout trying to catch someone's eye to order. When we did eventually order (two glasses of wine, a cheese board and some arancini), the waiter forgot the wine so our food arrived without anything to drink with it. We flagged down a (different) waiter and told him we were waiting on two glasses of X wine, however he seemed confused, didn't write that down and we then had the original waiter come back to the table and ask "what was your order again?". At this point the food had been sitting on the table for at least ten minutes and we were thirsty and quite irritated. About two minutes after we had placed our drinks order for the third time, a completely different waiter came and asked us if we'd like to order a drink. I did not see any proactivity in things like bringing water refills, picking up empty glasses, asking if we'd like the bill or another drink etc. Quite frankly it would have been easier to have an M&S picnic on the wall outside. My overall sense was the staff didn't want to be there and regard customers as a huge inconvenience. The location and atmosphere were good, and the food was mediocre.”

“I've been twice for a corporate dinner in their private mezzanine, and it is really lovely because it's enclosed but still keeps the atmosphere of the restaurant. I organized the second dinner and Jade was really friendly and accommodating, and Milly on the night was fantastic. The food is very yummy as well, I really enjoyed the mozarella arancini. 10/10 would eat again and it's perfect for private dinners!”

“I have been to this restaurant several times. I cannot get enough of saying that they have an amazing atmosphere, food and a very good selection of wines. The croquettes (starters) are to die for, especially accompanied by a good wine. The steak was delicious and nicely served. Will definitely go back.”
