About Ousia Muswell Hill π¬π·
Ousia Muswell Hill is a family-run Greek restaurant at 162 Fortis Green Rd in London, serving sharing plates from Greece and Cyprus. The menu follows a small-plates concept with no set meze menu, so the team puts together a selection of mezedes for the table. Halloumi fritters, falafel on a hummus base and pork souvlaki with chips and village salad sit among the dishes. The drinks list pairs imported Greek-Cypriot wines with cocktails. The restaurant opens Wednesday to Sunday and is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. For celebrations, the staff pour a zivania shot.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the hospitality, especially around occasions: a complimentary dessert, a celebratory shot poured at the bill, a table moved for fresh air, and a smaller portion for a solo diner. Food praise centers on the halloumi fritters, a creamy tarama, tender pork souvlaki and a lamb shank one diner calls the tastiest they have had. The small plates format and fresh salad also earn mentions, and one diner brought a dog and was welcomed. Opinions on the cooking split. One reviewer found the falafel uncooked in the middle, the tabbouleh unseasoned and the lamb shank sitting in fat. Another found the souvlaki watery and pinkish, and the sheftalia tiny and bland, though the octopus and fried aubergine were good. One calls service slow, and another says men on laptops at the back table talked loudly on the phone through the evening. Those who leave happy describe the chef checking in at the table and a free dessert arriving with a candle and a birthday song.

βBeen a few times to this branch. The food is very nice - tasty and fresh. The service is pretty slow but the staff are very pleasant and friendly. The problem is that everytime there's at least 2 or three men sitting at the back table on laptops, probably the owner, who are either on the phone talking loudly or hanging with mates, like its their 'office'. It ruins the dining experience when trying to enjoy an evening out with friends.β

βSuch a gem, the staff are so kind and want you to have a lovely dining experience. Itβs family run and we were made to feel so welcome. The food was delicious and we had a complimentary pudding to finish a lovely night, we would highly recommend this beautiful restaurantβ

βI had such a wonderful experience at Ousia in Muswell Hill. I visited on my won on a very hot day, and from the moment I arrived, Theo and his team went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and welcome. They opened the front windows and even moved my table so I could enjoy the fresh air which was such a thoughtful touch. As I was dining alone, they kindly allowed me to order a smaller portion rather than paying for a meal intended for two. That level of consideration is so rare these days and was genuinely appreciated. They also let me taste the wine before choosing, and the food was absolutely delicious - fresh, authentic and beautifully cooked. Theo prepared and dressed the salad at my table, which was a lovely touch. What really made my visit special was the kindness and warmth of everyone there. When I paid my bill, Theo poured us a small celebratory shot, and we raised a toast together in honer of my mother who was from Cyprus. It was such a lovely, unexpected gesture that made me smile and made my whole visit feel so personal. It's rare to find a restaurant where the food is delicious and the hospitality is even better. I left feeling genuinely cared for and can't wait to return, Thank you, Theo, and your wonderful team, you've created something truly special.β

βAmazing experience all round !! We went for my friends birthday, the food was great and the service was even better. Theo was lovely, super welcoming, chatty and all round great host ! The food was a good price for the amount we got too. Gave us free dessert for my friends birthday and sang her happy birthday with a candle, thank you Theo!!β

βThis was fabulous. Tastiest lamb shank I've ever had, a big portion, and very soft. Food was fantastic, arrived promptly, will definitely come back for more. Thank you for the lovely experience.β

Professional and meticulous Greek-Cypriot hospitality combined with fresh, daily-prepared sharing plates from Greece and Cyprus combined with Greek-Cypriot imported wines and cocktails place Ousia in its very own league of hospitality.β
