Customer Review Summary
The injera comes up again and again as the highlight, described as tangy and light, similar to dosa or crepes, with several diners noting it was topped up as needed. Close behind is the platter for sharing, praised as flavourful and filling without feeling heavy, alongside mentions of the mango juice and the hibiscus and lemonade drinks, the latter flagged as very tart rather than sweet. Reviewers repeatedly single out the owner, running the small space largely alone, as friendly and full of recommendations, with the service described as attentive even when unhurried on quiet nights. Dishes like red lentil and okra come up too, though one reviewer notes the red lentil "needed a little more flavour" and was disappointed okra wasn't available that day. Several also mention the calm, quiet atmosphere as letting conversation happen without raised voices, and describe the pricing as good value. Diners consistently say they left full and satisfied, with more than one planning to return with larger groups to work through more of the sharing menu.

“I'm not a huge one on leaving reviews but this place was unreal. Such a cosy, peaceful and calming atmosphere as soon as you walk in and the owner is so so lovely with lots of recommendations as to what to order!! Went with some friends and we got a bunch of dishes to share, everything was so delicious and flavourful, the mango juice was incredible, will definitely be coming back, such a hidden gem and again the owner is so so nice!!”

“Amazing East African food here. Cute little cafe with authentic African touches giving it a good ambience and feel. Lovely attentive service, but by far the food is the star of the show. Healthy, colourful, exciting and absolutely delicious.”

“I was a little disappointed as I came in craving okra, however it was not available. The staff there though were really nice and gave great recommendations although red lentil needed a little more flavour. Also wish they had some music …”
