Customer Review Summary
The caveat comes from two detailed World Cup final reviews, both rating it one star. Groups of seven describe being told an outdoor table needed a minimum spend, then waiting on a forgotten food order and a TV that glitched mid-match. They say an optional service charge was added to a bill, and when they asked to remove it, the manager refused and said each person would instead owe the minimum spend. One account reports that a staff member followed them outside, used racist slurs, and tried to grab a phone, and that a general manager later apologized and offered a return visit.

“We visited this restaurant as a group of seven to watch the World Cup final. Before entering, we were informed by the staff at the entrance that an outdoor table could be arranged if we spent £50 on food and drinks. Based on that information, we decided to dine there. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. There were delays and issues with our food order, the attitude of some of the staff was rude and unprofessional, and the TV showing the World Cup final suffered technical glitches that disrupted the live telecast. After paying, we noticed that an optional service charge had been added to our bill without it being brought to our attention beforehand. As we were unhappy with the service for the reasons above, we requested that the optional charge be removed. Instead of addressing our concerns, the manager refused and stated that if the service charge was removed, we would instead be charged £50 per person, claiming that this had been the original condition. This made little sense because our bill had already been prepared and presented as £203. If the original agreement had genuinely been £50 per person for seven people, the bill would have been substantially higher from the outset rather than only being mentioned when we asked for the optional service charge to be removed. When we asked the manager to explain this contradiction, no clear explanation was provided. As we were leaving, we calmly told the member of staff at the entrance that customers should be given clear and accurate information about the restaurant's terms. Rather than ending the conversation professionally, he followed us outside, continued arguing with us, called us "beggars" and accused us of wanting free food. When we tried to record the interaction, he attempted to grab the phone from us, making the situation even more unpleasant. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. We hope the restaurant reviews its customer service, communicates charges more transparently, and treats customers with greater professionalism and respect.”

“If you’re looking for a place that pairs mediocre food with a heavy side of blatant racism, predatory billing, and aggressive intimidation, look no further than Drunch at Regent’s Park! Truly a five-star masterclass in how to run a hospitality business straight into the dirt. We made the mistake of visiting to watch the World Cup final. Upon arrival, the door staff informed us we could have an outdoor table with TV access if we agreed to a £50 minimum spend. Fair enough. We took two tables, ordered food and drinks, and racked up a £203 bill. What followed was a comedy of errors if it weren’t so appalling: >> The "Service": A major chunk of our food order was completely forgotten. We had to beg staff three separate times just to get what we ordered. >>The Main Event: The TV crashed for 5-10 minutes during the match, utterly defeating the single reason we chose to sit there. >>The "Hospitality": To top off the meal, our waitress casually dropped a racist comment to one of our friends. Delightful ambiance! When the bill arrived, we noticed an "optional" £22 service charge sneakily tacked on without a word. Naturally, given the atrocious service and casual bigotry, we asked for it to be removed. Enter the manager. He flatly refused to remove the £22 charge and instead threatened that if we didn't pay it, he’d retroactively charge us £50 per person (claiming that was the original rule). Quick math lesson for the management: if the rule was £50 per head for our group, why was our original bill £203? When called out on this absolute nonsense, the manager had zero answers just cheap threats to coerce us into paying a supposedly "optional" fee. Later he said that we can buy something of that 22 pounds. It gets better! As we left, we politely advised the door staff not to give future customers misleading information. Instead of taking the feedback, the staff member followed us out onto the street, screamed racist slurs at us, accused us of wanting "free food," and got violently aggressive with a female member of our group, attempting to physically snatch a phone when we tried to record his unhinged tirade. Eventually, the General Manager came out to speak with us. While he did apologize and invited us to come back so they could "make it up to us," no actual action was taken against the door staff who chased and threatened us on the street, or the waitress who made the racist remark. We obviously declined his offer to return. A hollow apology doesn't excuse allowing staff to verbally abuse and intimidate paying guests. So, to recap: >>Bait-and-switch minimum spend rules. >>Sneaky, forced "optional" service fees backed up by managerial extortion. >>Average, forgotten food. >>Broken TVs during major events. >>Casual racism from the waiting staff, followed by aggressive, street-harassing racism from the door staff. Do yourself a favor and spend your money literally anywhere else. Unless, of course, you enjoy paying a premium to be scammed and verbally abused!”

“We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place to celebrate such a special milestone—our daughter’s engagement! From the moment we arrived at Drunch Regent’s Park, the atmosphere was warm, elegant, and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every dish was fresh, and the coffee and brunch selections were exceptional. What truly made the experience unforgettable, however, was the outstanding service. The staff made us feel genuinely celebrated, adding to the joy of such a memorable occasion. Thank you, Drunch Regent’s Park, for helping us create memories that our family will cherish forever. We highly recommend it for anyone looking for a beautiful brunch experience, whether for a special celebration or simply a wonderful meal in London.”
