About Côte Sloane Square

Côte Sloane Square is an all-day French brasserie in London, at 7-12 Sloane Square. Breakfast is served, and the French menu continues through the day. French onion soup and French onion bread sit among the savoury dishes, and the pistachio crème brûlée is the dessert to finish on. Seafood appears among the starters and mains, and steak comes with frites. A set menu is offered alongside the main list, which gives diners a fixed option when they would rather not choose course by course. Reservations are taken, and a queue forms at busy times.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the service, with one waiter in particular praised as attentive, friendly and professional, and another noted for his knowledge of gluten free options, cheese and wines. Close behind are the fries, called exceptional in one review and full marks in another, alongside the cote gravy and garlic butter. The set menu draws praise for value, with the potted crab, steak and fries, pistachio creme brulee and chocolate praline tart named by one diner, while others enjoyed scallops, mussels, French onion soup, fish stew and eggs benedict with a pot of tea. The room is described as lively and busy, with a few calling it noisier than usual during Chelsea in Bloom. The food draws mixed reports. One diner found the gladius, the calamari's internal bone, left in every piece, and the roast chicken and Cuvee Pink were called underwhelming and bland. Another found the chicken very dry, and a ribeye was tender but less juicy than hoped. One reviewer who asked for no sauce still found the steak good, and another diner's waiter asked about food allergies before they ordered.

“I had breakfast at Côte Sloane Square and ordered the Eggs Benedict with a pot of tea. The eggs were nicely cooked, the hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy, and everything was fresh and well prepared. The tea was also excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, making it an easy place to sit and enjoy breakfast. The service was friendly and efficient, and the whole experience was pleasant. A lovely spot for breakfast in a great location. I’d happily visit again the next time I’m in London.”

“We visited Cote in Sloane Square and had a mixed experience. Unfortunately, my chicken was very dry and the food didn’t quite meet expectations. However, the service was outstanding. Our waiter, Dom, was absolutely amazing - attentive to every detail, polite, friendly, and genuinely made us feel welcome throughout our visit. His excellent service was the highlight of the evening.”

“This is a particularly lively and busy branch, with a real buzz and great atmosphere. However, the hum from the aircon, background music and insanely/excited chatty diners made it a tad loud but it was the week of the Chelsea Flower Show... Still, this didn't detract from the comfortable setting. Our waiter Kuba was obliging, helpful, humorous and attentive. He also enquired about food allergies, so no complaints there... If only the same could be said about some of the food... My fellow diner found the indigestible gladius had not been removed from ANY of her calamari, our roast chicken was underwhelming and sadly, the Cuvee Pink was bland. However, FULL MARKS for the Frites, Cote Gravy, Garlic Butter and the Warm Chocolate Fondant.”

“This place is quite popular. On my way out around 7pm, people were queuing up. I ordered a ribeye with fries (I specifically asked for no sauce). It was good — tender, but not as juicy as I would have liked. The fries were exceptional, and the Malbec was rich and full-bodied.”
