Quick info
About Aqua Nueva
Aqua Nueva is a Spanish restaurant in London, at 30 Argyll St, on the 5th floor of its building. A bull stands at the entrance, and the rooftop terrace above looks out over the city. The rooftop is for drinks, and a brunch table booking does not guarantee a spot up there. The Dark Brunch comes with bottomless drinks, with cocktails that keep coming through the meal. The tapas are made for sharing, including chorizo lollipops and patatas bravas, and churros are served as dessert. Gluten-free dishes are catered for. A DJ plays on Friday nights, with music running late into the evening. Reservations are required, and a private dining room is available for groups.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the Dark Brunch, with its free-flowing cocktails and sangria alongside shared tapas, and several say a DJ turns it into a proper Friday night. Among the tapas, the chorizo lollipops come up repeatedly, close behind the octopus, oxtail, aubergine and Padron peppers. Churros with chocolate sauce and orange marmalade are mentioned as a nice finish. Reviewers also praise the rooftop views and the waiters, described as friendly and kind, and one says gluten-free needs were handled without trouble for a coeliac guest.

“Dark Brunch with bottomless alcohol! The waiter Adel and Danzil are really nice to keep bringing me cocktails! 🥖 Sharing Board The kimchi is the perfect drink companion. Sourdough dipped in the red sauce hits different — it carries that rich, savoury depth reminiscent of the minced pork topping on Sichuan Dan Dan noodles. The orange cheese sauce pairs beautifully with the kimchi, too! 🫑 Tapas Padron peppers, chorizo and patatas bravas — all dangerously drink-friendly. One bite, half a glass down… finished three Sangrias before I knew it! (Skipping cheese notes as I’m not personally a fan) 🍽️ Mains — every single one pairs perfectly with wine/cocktail 🐑 Lamb Shoulder Firm, tender meat with absolutely no gamey aftertaste. Loved the slight bitterness of the accompanying chicory — such a thoughtful balance. 🐟 Pan-Fried Marinated Salmon Such a classic Spanish combo with the beans! Crisp golden skin, beautifully firm flesh. 🍮 Glazed Churros Spanish doughnuts with rich chocolate sauce and orange marmalade. Even dessert keeps reaching for another sip — impossible to stop drinking!”

“We did the Dark Brunch and had such a brilliant experience. It was excellent value for money, with a really generous selection of delicious tapas that were all full of flavour and beautifully presented. The cocktails and drinks were also a real highlight—there was a great variety, everything was well made, and the drinks kept flowing throughout the brunch. A special mention has to go to our waiters, Chintan and Danzil, who were both absolutely fantastic. They were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We had a lovely time and would definitely recommend the Dark Brunch to anyone looking for great food, amazing drinks, and excellent service.”

“The food here was outstanding. We shared several tapas. The aubergine, chorizo lollipops and the cheese were total winners. There was not a dish that wasn't delicious and presented like a work of art. We are surprised how reasonable our bill was too! Service matched the food and was impeccable”

“Went for the Friday Dark Brunch and honestly had such a good night. The food was really good, especially all the tapas to share, and the churros at the end were a nice touch. The free-flowing drinks definitely kept the atmosphere going, and once the DJ started it turned into a proper Friday night. We stayed much longer than we planned because we were having such a good time. Would definitely come back.”

“Absolutely fantastic food, great tapas and wine (we had the experience menu with paired wine). Slightly quiet (we were there at lunch just before a big event taking place at the restaurant so not so busy) but I imagine it would be very lively at busier times. Will certainly return in the future. Would recommend booking in advance.”
