Quick info
About El Pastor Battersea
El Pastor Battersea is a Mexican restaurant in Battersea Power Station, London, in Units 21-22 of Circus West Village. The menu draws on the decade its founders spent in Mexico City running the nightclub El Colmillo, and it pairs familiar dishes with newer additions. Tacos and tostadas anchor the food, with short rib tacos and a steak quesadilla among the options, and mezcal and a spicy margarita cover the drinks. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner, and a Mexican brunch runs at the weekends. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring a pet along for a meal.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the servers, who help them choose dishes and drinks, check in without intruding, and note allergies down. The steak quesadilla comes up twice, and the short rib tacos arrive bone and all, shredded at the table with unlimited tortillas. Close behind are the spicy chicken taco and a chorizo and cheese taco, with grilled elote and fresh guacamole also praised, along with a spicy margarita and well balanced margaritas. Heat is a recurring note, and one reviewer suggests asking for less since some dishes are extremely hot. The complaints are specific. One reviewer reports a long wait for meat dishes. Another found the tortillas too soft and soggy under the sauce, and a third wanted the quesadilla's beef cooked longer to be more tender. One describes a waiter who had to be called after the menus sat for minutes, water added only on request, and all the food arriving together with drinks later. A birthday celebrant recalls the waiter singing Happy Birthday at the table.

“Jessica was absolutely excellent and even helped us to decide what to eat. And drink! She is a star! Lovely smile and very amicable. There should be more people like her! Absolute credit to the company. She was so good that I ordered two drinks she recommended. Great view of BPS and pitcturesk scenery. Will definitely be coming back real soon. Maybe my birthday!! 🥰😍🫶🏾”

“The food was fine. The tortillas were a bit too soft, and the sauce made it very soggy, but the service made it worth 4 stars overall. The waiter had to be called after looking at our menus for at least 5 minutes, and no water was added to our table till we asked. All food came together, starters, mains and drinks about 10 minutes later. Not organised.”

“I had such an incredible experience at this restaurant, and a huge part of that was thanks to Zach! From the moment we walked in, he made us feel genuinely welcome with his friendly attitude and great sense of humor. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect—from helping us choose the best dishes to checking in at just the right times without ever being intrusive. Zach clearly knows the menu inside and out, and his recommendations were spot on—some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time! His energy and professionalism really elevated the whole experience. It’s rare to come across service this good these days, and Zach absolutely nailed it. If you’re visiting, definitely ask for him—you won’t regret it. Can’t wait to come back! Special mention to the spicy margarita!”

“First time at El Pastor Battersea, and it did NOT disappoint. Our server, Michael, was an absolute delight. He took time and care to make sure my allergies/intolerances were noted down and gave us the very best drink and food recommendations. The food was delicious and the drinks were fantastic. We will be back and hope we have Michael taking care of us again. 5⭐️!”
