About Cheeky Chicos
Cheeky Chicos is a Mexican restaurant and bar on St John's Hill in Clapham, London, built around Mexican-fusion tacos. Beef brisket tacos arrive with a consommé, and Korean fried chicken tacos sit beside them on a menu where tacos are the core. Among the tostadas, one is loaded with pork belly and gochujang sauce. The bar pours margaritas and other cocktails. Neon signs and murals cover the colourful interior. The restaurant takes walk-ins, and the week includes a Taco Tuesday deal and a weekend bottomless brunch.

Customer Review Summary
Beef brisket tacos, served with a rich consommé, are the dish reviewers praise most, and one says they would return for them alone. Close behind are the prawn tacos with mango salsa, then the Korean fried chicken taco, crab tostada, loaded nachos and the Mexican street corn, called smoky and buttery. Drinks earn steady praise, including margaritas, a strawberry daiquiri and the picante cocktail. Reviewers describe a colourful room of neon signs and murals that becomes a party atmosphere in the evenings, with friendly, quick staff. The criticism is small: one diner found the cod taco a bit plain and wanted something sharper, such as pickling, though the coating was great, and another noted the food is not traditional Mexican. One early diner was handed a bottle of tap water without asking.

“Arrived for approx 12 (we didn't make a reservation but arrived very shortly after opening) for a quick-ish bite to try some tacos as we were already in the area to try somewhere else. Super cool interior and we all definitely appreciated the curation of art and plants and colours. I think we were the first customers so we got served quickly and were given a bottle of tap water without having to ask which was very lovely. We picked two tacos so we could each try two different ones. The prawn and the cod with the aloe ginger and the hibiscus iced tea to drink. Both drinks delicious and perfectly chilled, gratefully received considering the weather. The tacos were fresh, hot and looked beautiful on arrival. Our favourite was the prawn, what I think was a mango salsa was flavourful and the slight soft sweetness pairs well with the firm prawn. I felt the cod one could have been my favourite with the addition of something sharper in taste, maybe a bit more pickled as I felt it tasted a bit plain. Still very well made non the less, the coating on the cod was great and added good texture, cooked perfectly. I wish I was hungrier and had more room to try more dishes but would happily plan a return.”

“This is from Saudi Eats in London, with 90k+ followers across social platforms. Instagram & Tiktok: saudieats.ksa @cheeky_chicos a whole vibe. From the moment you walk in, the energy grabs you and doesn’t let go. Bright murals, neon signs, and an atmosphere so alive it practically has its own heartbeat. 💛🔥 The food? Chef’s kiss. Classic Mexican done with a modern swagger, think tacos, tostadas, quesadillas and sharing plates that were made for the ’gram and your taste buds simultaneously. 📸👅 The prawn tacos are the main character and they know it. 🍤 The crab tostada? Quietly iconic. And the nachos? Let’s just say there were no survivors. 🦀🥑🙌🏼 But honestly the vibe is where Cheeky Chicos becomes unforgettable. As the sun goes down, this place transforms into an all-out fiesta. Good music, great people, electric energy. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, a work win, or just surviving the week this is your spot. 🎉🥂”

“the food over here was fresh, and beautifully presented. The tacos were packed with juicy, flavorful fillings and topped with fresh herbs and delicious sauces that complemented every bite perfectly. The loaded nachos with fresh guacamole were crispy, generous, and full of bold flavors. The Mexican street corn was smoky, buttery, and seasoned just right, making it one of the standout dishes. To top it all off, the refreshing cocktail paired perfectly with the meal. The atmosphere was warm, lively, and welcoming-perfect for catching up with friends, enjoying a date night, or celebrating with family. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable.♥️👍😊”
