Customer Review Summary

Tuna kimbap is the dish reviewers raise most, with one couple finishing every bite and another diner starting on it before taking a photo. Close behind are the grilled pork belly, described as juicy and lightly seasoned with salt and pepper, and the mixed BBQ, which diners can cook at the table or have prepared over wood charcoal. Others praise the samgyetang broth, a large sweet and spicy chicken set that one reviewer says could feed three, kimchi fried rice, spicy rice cakes, grilled mackerel, jjamppong and LA galbi. Many call the food authentic and homemade, comparing it to Korean home cooking, and describe a kind owner, friendly staff, a clean shop and Korean music playing. The complaints are minor: one reviewer notes there are no banchan, another says the brown rice green tea came as a teabag, and a diner who usually orders delivery found the food not bad. One reviewer insists on adding cheese to the tteokbokki.

“I love the Korean bbq experience of cooking your own meat, but it seems like they prioritise the chef cooking on wood charcoal now, which I am not complaining about. The Samgyupsal (Grilled Pork Belly) was delicious! Probably my favourite in England so far. It’s always hard to find here because so many places serve only Halal to cater to the local populations, but it’s always a treat for me when I find the authentic dish in the UK. It was juicy, fully cooked through, and perfectly lightly flavoured with salt and pepper. I ordered 3 of my 4 favourite dishes here. The other two are Samgyetang (Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup) and Tuna Kimbap. The Tuna Kimbap is also hard to find in England and I don’t know why. It’s a simply colourful and delicious dish to make and doesn’t take much cooking. The Samgyetang broth was good and the meat was tender. It didn’t come with salt and pepper on the side which it traditionally comes with in my experience since it’s normally a very very light broth, but this time it felt light and fresh but still had a good amount of flavour. The owner and server seemed nice and are Korean so I made sure to say 맛있다 or mashita expressing how tasty everything was and my love for their cooking. It’s on a main road and close to Middlesex University, if I was a student again, I’d definitely be here all the time, haha. Note that there aren’t banchan (traditional Korean side dishes) but it was still a very filling experience and not overly greasy. Also, the Brown Rice Green Tea is my go-to tea, but it came in a teabag which I wasn’t expecting, still lovely though! I’d love to come back sometime and try more faves. Maybe I’ll bring family.”

“Proper authentic Korean food, not the watered-down version. Everything tasted homemade and honestly gave me that comforting “mum’s home cooking” feeling. The flavours were spot on, portions generous, and every dish was delicious. The owner was also incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Definitely one of the best Korean spots I’ve tried in the UK 😂”

“I first tried the grilled mackerel as a delivery order with my boyfriend, and it was so good that we decided to visit the restaurant in person. We also ordered the tuna kimbap and it was sooo delicious that we finished everything without leaving a single bite. You definitely have to add cheese to the tteokbokki — it makes it even better🩷 It was actually my first time ever finishing all the food at a restaurant. It was so good that I immediately recommended this place to my friends. We will definitely come back again!”

“Second time here and it never disappoints! The mixed BBQ and fish stew tasted exactly like "Jip-bap" (Korean home-cooked meals). Plus, getting to try the viral Dubai cookies was such a treat. It felt like a mini-vacation to Korea. So glad to have this gem in the North!”
