Quick info
About Brockwell Park Cafe
Set in the middle of Brockwell Park beside Brockwell Hall, Brockwell Park Cafe is a coffee shop with wide views across the park and London, at SE24 0PA. Coffee anchors the counter, hot or cold and available to take away for a walk around the park, with tea and cold drinks alongside. Ice cream is sold next to the food, which runs to sandwiches and hot dishes. Orders go in at the counter, where contactless payment is taken, and there is no booking, so it works on a walk-in basis. A few tables sit inside, while benches and tables scattered under the trees give space for outdoor dining, without umbrellas on sunny days. A step-free entrance opens the cafe to visitors with mobility needs, high chairs suit families with young children, and dogs are welcome. It opens daily. The main building reopened after a Lambeth Council refurbishment, and a van by the green path towards the pond also serves snacks.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the view across Brockwell Park and London, with bright light through large windows, and the coffee that goes with it. One praises consistently good coffee and free dog treats, another recalls a delicious cappuccino, and a third liked the cold coffee. Ice cream and a wide spread of food options also draw praise, and one reviewer calls the cafe friendly and affordable. The complaints are mostly about service and food. One diner describes staff as unfriendly on a quiet day, another reports chaotic service after a disappointing mozzarella, tomato and basil sandwich, and a third disliked contactless payment being taken behind the counter out of reach, with no total given. Others mention an ice slushy that was too sweet, outdoor benches that were not regularly cleaned, and ladies toilets that were out of order. One reviewer found the tea really weak and a banana and blueberry baby loaf too dry to eat, and the waitress apologised but offered no alternative or refund.

“Not v impressed, really weak tea that really wasn’t nice and a banana & blueberry baby loaf that was so dry we couldn’t eat it. When I told the waitress she apologised but there was no offer of an alternative or a refund. Very mediocre”

“This is, hands down, the best spot for a relaxing break in Brockwell Park. A well-deserved 5 stars! The vibe here is truly amazing—it’s the definition of a chill and comfort cafe. What really sets it apart is the view. Situated perfectly, it offers arguably the best view you can get while enjoying a coffee in the area. Step inside and you’re treated to a spectacular scene: bright natural light floods through the large windows, giving the interior an almost ethereal glow. It truly makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a paint world—a beautiful, bright, and calming aesthetic. Beyond the stunning setting, the coffee is consistently good, making the entire experience top-notch. Highly recommend making this your regular stop for an uplifting escape! Free dog treats for your furry friends”

“I am a local resident who has enjoyed Brockwell Park all my life. Lambeth Council holds the open space in trust for public enjoyment, with the Hall itself becoming a public facility within the park. Lambeth spent £7.7 million (including a 50% Lottery grant) on refurbishments and now Roots & Berries (after issues created by Lambeth's covenant use of the facility) has finally been allowed to open. I wish them every success.”

“The main Cafe building is under restoration now next to the Brockwell Hall. The fence came down. I guess they should soon allow to open as a cafeteria and ice cream corner, lunches and that delicious cappuccino back in soon. However, at moment still only the van opened as a burger/snacks and ice cream facing the green path towards the pond. Cold drinks, coffee takeaway. And also hot food and cookies. Good location in the middle of the Park. Tables now scattered under the trees. Will be open all year around, offering Park users a treat. The nearest toilet now is by the English Garden (towards the pond) or the portaloos around.”

“The ice cream selection was nice and it was great to see so many different food selections! The only aspect was that the benches outsides were not regularly cleaned and wish they have had umbrellas on them in the sunny days. The ice cream was nice but the ice slushy that they made was too sweet. Having some lemonades or less sweet versions will be much better :)!”
