About Benugo Espresso Bar (First Floor)

Benugo Espresso Bar (First Floor) is a cafe at St Pancras Station in London, set upstairs on the Upper Grand Terrace next to Searcy's Champagne Bar. Early 20th-century wooden panelling lines the room, and the bar overlooks the concourse and the Eurostar entrance. Orders go through the counter, with several staff behind it, and bar-style seating has room for about 20. The coffee list includes flat whites. Food runs to croissants, cakes, sandwiches and an egg, bacon and cheese roll, with vegetarian and vegan options. Beer and wine are also served for a drink before a departure. The bar is open daily.

Customer Review Summary

Coffee is the main draw, with reviewers praising the flat whites and consistently good coffee, often served quickly by friendly counter staff. Close behind are the breakfast rolls, where a sausage, egg and cheese roll and a bacon roll earn praise, along with sandwiches, a fiery Salmon & Greens salad, and vegetarian and vegan options that one reviewer calls rare on the concourse. A few like the bar-style seating, the wooden panelling and the view over the concourse and the Eurostar entrance, and one calls it lovely and quiet. Prices are the recurring complaint, described as steeper or slightly above average. One reviewer found an egg, bacon and cheese roll soggy, with barely any egg and two small slices of bacon. Another reports slow service with six people behind the counter, and staff repeatedly slamming the staff door during a coffee stop before a long train journey.

“I can’t tell how many times the staff walked in and out within 5 min through the staff door attached to my review. In and out and slamming the door while I was trying to relax before my long train journey. Also, 6 people serving behind the counter with such a slow service. Not impressed at all.”

“Lovely and quiet place to sit for coffee with the view of euro rail and entrance . Service is great and reasonable”
  • Juan Morales Martinez
“Quiet pricey for only a egg, bacon and cheese roll, and a coffee. £10+ the roll had barely any egg on it, 2 small slices of bacon and the bread was very soggy. Tasty but too expensive I would say.”

“Stopped here before boarding Eurostar as it's far cheaper. Sausage, egg and cheese roll was lovely, as was the bacon roll. Coffee was excellent, staff were helpful and friendly, all round excellent.”
  • ItzNamz93
“Great experience ranging from the coffee to sandwiches and customer service, highly recommend for coffee lovers, served quickly with exceptional care and quality. However, the prices are on the steeper side which is to be expected for St Pancras.”
