Customer Review Summary
Service is the other recurring complaint. Reviewers describe food arriving slowly or not hot, including freezing nachos. One says a second plate on the unlimited special took far longer than other tables' refills, and a dispute over removing the service charge ended with the manager threatening to call security. Another reports being listed as a no-show on Top Table after dining. Friendly staff are also noted, and one table received complimentary prosecco after a long wait. Another reviewer's father got extra ice cream for his birthday.

“I have been to Big Easy many times. This time the lobster seems smaller portions. The lack of flavour in lobster. The atmosphere was a bit down. The food didn’t come hot and the service was very slow. I don’t think I will return any time soon. I hope you can improve those things I mentioned above.”

“Food was good in what started as a good night. We were in a group and unfortunately my friend and I ordered the unlimited food special, being a seafood special for the Friday. The food was good for the first plate and I wanted more, as it was an unlimited special you can readily order more when you finish. I ordered my second plate, but it took over 45 mins to come out as other tables continued receiving their own refill plates. I politely asked the waiter where my plate was as I was in a rush and needed to go to another event. The waiter said that the ticket for my platter was 'lost' and that they were bringing it out in 5 mins, 20 mins later it arrived, and at that point I couldn't enjoy the food, everyone else had finished and were all waiting for me. At this point, we decided to forgo the service charge as it just was not worth paying the extra 12.5%. This service charge was agreed to be taken off and we subsequently paid and split the bill through the app. Each person paying their item by selecting it through the app. The total paid being that minus the service charge. We then were told that we had not paid the bill and owed, surprise surprise, the service charge amount! After much arguing and the staff's inability to show us what we had not paid, and a statement from the manger, who was very aggressive, that she would call the security. We ended up paying the service charge. Do not pay through the app, and do not ask to have your service charge removed, as you will have security called on you”

“Not our first time in Big Easy but this one wasn’t good at all… started with noticing one of the waiters picking their nose while stood in the middle of the restaurant. Had to use mobile flashlight to read the menu! We were seated promptly as we had reservations. And the staff are pleasant, have to give them that. The water was going to land a hot plate on top of a mobile phone! Food was mediocre. I had the nachos that was almost freezing as a starter. Then had a cheeseburger that was a meh at best. Another waiter whacked someone on our table with a plate or their elbow while serving another table! Not sure if we’d go back again, unfortunately”

“I recently visited Big Easy on King’s Road in Chelsea and had a generally enjoyable experience, though there were a few areas that could be improved. The special of the day was the unlimited barbecue meats along with pulled pork, which initially sounded very appealing. The pulled pork itself was still flavourful and satisfying, but overall, the offering didn’t quite feel the same as it used to. There seems to have been a slight decline in quality compared to previous visits. One of the highlights for me in the past has always been the cornbread. It used to be absolutely gorgeous—so much so that I would always ask for extra. Unfortunately, this time it didn’t live up to expectations and lacked the richness and texture I remember. The sausage and chicken were also a bit disappointing, as they were quite dry and seemed slightly overcooked. The men in our group ordered the lobster and were quite surprised by how small it was, and it was also a bit dry, which was disappointing given the price point. On a more positive note, the chips were really good—nice and chunky—and the garlic sauce was delicious. Drinks were decent, nothing particularly standout but perfectly fine. That said, I still really like the place. The ambience has a distinctive vintage charm, with a deliberately relaxed and slightly rustic feel—it’s not meant to be pristine or overly polished, and that adds to its character. The space itself is on the smaller side, but it’s clearly designed that way to create a cosy, lively atmosphere. Service was alright—nothing exceptional, but efficient enough. It is somewhat on the pricier side, though not unreasonable for the location. Overall, I would still come back and I know I’ll visit again in the future, hoping the food returns to its former standard.”
