About Lucy In The Sky Coffee Shop

Lucy In The Sky Coffee Shop is a coffee shop in Liverpool, based at Unit 2 and decorated in a pink, colourful theme throughout the room. Milkshakes here come served in a mini wheelie bin, topped with cream and marshmallows. From a menu of 88 dishes, the kitchen offers a Breakfast Croissant and Smoked Salmon alongside the Scouse, a beef stew with potatoes and veg served with homemade pickled cabbage and bread. Coffee is brought out as a flat white with a glass of water on the side. It runs on a walk-in basis with no bookings taken, and a wait for a table is common, with some outdoor seating available for overflow and for anyone bringing a dog, which is welcome on the premises. The shop opens daily but only during the day, and takeaway is offered for those eating off site.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers return most for the breakfast bagel, called "an absolute winner" by one diner and so good that another now makes it at home. Close behind are the eggs Benedict and eggs royale with hollandaise, the Scouse full English, and the smashed avocado toast with hashbrowns. Several single out the coleslaw, and the matchas (birthday cake and strawberries and cream) and the hot chocolates get praise too. The milkshakes arrive in a mini wheelie bin, which some find fun and one calls a gimmick, describing a plain strawberry milkshake in a bin with cream and marshmallows. That same reviewer found the scouse decent but "a bit meh" and the drinks pricey, while another found the hot chocolate a little expensive. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, and a couple mention waiting for a table or for food on busy days. Diners also mention drinks served on little trays, with a teapot and a small metal urn of milk, and one server who quickly corrected an error with an order.

“A fantastic place! One of the few original ones out there. It's a truly exceptional place with an incredible atmosphere. The people are smiling, having fun, and just glowing. It's a wonderful place and such a wonderful experience I had with my mom. We were so happy, because both the food, the dessert, and the people working there make you feel fantastic. I totally recommend this place because it's genuinely magical, and the shakes served in a trash can style are just rad! Highly recommended. I'll definitely be coming back here again.”

“Great family owned cafe in Liverpool. They serve great brunch options, including the classic English breakfast “the Scouse”, vegan brunch options and eggs Benedict. The atmosphere is very inviting, the staff is great and of course they play the Beatles in the background. Hope to be back! Thank you!”

“We randomly found Lucy’s place today (Sunday) and so glad we did. Me and 3 mates had planned to go to Moose over the road, we got there at 0930 but it was all booked up. So I turned around and spied Lucy’s which was also full up however it looked good so we sat at the table outside and managed to get a table inside after 10mins. We just had a great experience there. Lovely vibes and tunes, the food was absolutely spot on and the team were good banter too (selfie with Lucy, aye go on then, I insisted, she was dead canny). The food was a taste sensation, between us, we had two Scouse full English’s, one veggie brekkie and a brekky bagel. Everything was excellent. Quality food and well presented. The drinks were excellent too, I loved the way they were presented on little trays: the flat white with a glass of water, and the teapot with a little metal urn of milk-so simple yet a good little detail thing. So who needs Moose, not us anymore we declared on leaving. We shall return and suggest you do too. Great food, great vibes and you might get a selfie with the lovely Lucy too (she ain’t no Moose!). JULY 2026 update: we returned to Liverpool this weekend and had to get back to see Lucy again. Alas, she wasn’t in but we did meet her lovely daughter, and we were well looked after by the whole team. The food was yet again tremendous; that breakfast bagel is an absolute winner, so good. Lucy’s remains a top spot for us for our Liverpudlian adventures.”

“I had the Veggie breakfast with a Ruby matcha and it was divine! The staff were very charming, especially the blonde lady who made conversation with us when we were paying. Lovely experience, I'd love to come again some day :)”
