About Chamber 36 City Centre
Chamber 36 City Centre is a Chinese restaurant at 45-49 Berry St in Liverpool, serving Pan-Asian small plates meant for sharing since 2016. The menu includes duck pancakes, mixed meats vermicelli and Sichuan dumplings, and a separate vegan menu sits alongside it. A lunch menu offers a choice of three plates. The bar stocks drinks from around the world, including a large whiskey collection, and bartenders make cocktails at the bar. The restaurant opens Wednesday to Sunday and closes on Mondays and Tuesdays. A second Chamber 36 site opened on Smithdown Road in 2021.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the small plates, with the duck pancakes and the vermicelli coming up repeatedly. One reviewer calls the mixed meats vermicelli the best they have had, and another praises duck pancake rolls alongside Teriyaki Salmon and Sichuan Dumplings. Prawn toasts, egg fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and steamed scallops also get called delicious. Close behind is the bar, where reviewers describe a fantastic drinks selection, particularly nice cocktails, a strong whiskey collection and skilled bartenders. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and helpful, and the lunch menu with three plates and a full vegan menu earns a mention. One reviewer also notes a European-Asian slant to the food. The one sharply negative account comes from a takeaway order, where the dumplings arrived with sauce spilled throughout the container, looked rushed and messy, and the portion felt small for what was paid. Another reviewer says eight plates for two was too many and that six would have been enough, taking the leftovers home in a doggy bag.

“We went for lunch and the lunch menu is great, for only 17£ you can get 3 plates. There's a whole vegan menu. Everything was delicious and the service from Jade was great, always smiling and kind . Lovely atmosphere and interior design”

“Came in with my friend and Faye was our bartender/server. She’s so knowledgeable and helped with all our enquiries, such a smile and a beautiful vibe overall. Food and drinks were incredible along with our service. Such a credit to the team(all of them are great but Faye stood out), would definitely recommend and can’t wait to come again soon enough!!!”

“Our meal was fabulous. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Our favourites were the duck pancake rolls, Teriyaki Salmon, and the Sichuan Dumplings. Though every thing we had was a taste sensation. We did order too much and should have stuck with 6 rather than 8 plates for 2 - though not complaining as I ended up with the doggy bag :)”

“Decent food with a more European-Asian slant. Staff are very friendly and the drinks selection is fantastic.”

“Very disappointed with my order from Chamber 36 City Centre. I paid £36.50, which is quite expensive, but the food quality was extremely poor. The dumplings were badly presented, with sauce spilled everywhere in the container. They looked rushed and messy. The portion size was also very small for the price. The food did not look fresh and the overall presentation was unacceptable. For nearly £40, I expected proper packaging, better portions, and good quality food. Instead, it felt like very little care was put into the order. This was definitely not worth the money, and I regret ordering from here. I would not recommend this place unless they seriously improve their food quality and presentation.”

Good to know
“Since 2016, Chamber 36 has been a Liverpool favourite. Starting in the City Centre next to Chinatown, we quickly became known for our contemporary Pan-Asian tapas, crafted cocktails, and diverse drinks. Now in 2025, we've fully embraced a vibrant small plates concept, perfect for sharing delicious flavours with friends and exploring an even wider array of exciting dishes. Our bar remains central to the experience, offering perfect drink pairings. Inspired by unity, we believe sharing exceptional food and drinks creates connection within the Liverpool community. This spirit extends to our second location, opened in Smithdown Road in 2021. Both venues offer the same warm welcome and delicious small plates for any occasion.”
