About Geee’s Coffee

Geee's Coffee is a cafe on Brows Ln in Liverpool, serving café-style breakfast and lunch with flatbreads, toasties, and baked potatoes, alongside vegetarian and vegan options. On Fridays and Saturdays, the format shifts to tapas evenings, with multiple dishes shared between diners and different breads served alongside them. Seating is at tables with booths available, and cakes such as carrot cake and coffee and walnut cake round out the counter. Coffee is made with espresso. The cafe opens daily and takes walk-ins rather than bookings. Outdoor seating is available for those who want to eat outside, and the entrance is step-free and wheelchair accessible. Dogs are welcome, and high chairs are available for families with young children. Parking is available right outside as well as around the village.

Customer Review Summary

Coffee is the recurring complaint. One reviewer says the espresso tastes good but the milk is burnt by a screeching steam wand, and another simply calls the coffee not good. A less happy visit describes a long wait with no acknowledgement, a soup swapped, chips and a smoothie unavailable, and chair lights covered in dust and dead insects. That reviewer also found the sauce packets dirty and spent over the expected amount on food they hadn't planned to order.

“Gees is cool coffee shop similar to those found in abundance on Lark Lane South Liverpool, but what makes it’s so much better than all of those is the food and service, it’s another level. The breakfast is the best you can eat in Formby by a country mile. Try the tapas on a Friday or Sat eve you will not regret it. The food is so so good.”

“Wish we had gone elsewhere, sadly. The Menu looked good so we gave it a try. We sat down and waited a while, no acknowledgement so went up to order was told table service so sat back down to wait again. Finally he came to serve us and sat down to take our order. The soup on the board i ordered wasnt correct, so changed it for a different soup, fine. Ordered chips for my little boy, they later came to say they only had half portion, fine. Then they came back and said theyre now gone, so had to change for sweet Potato fries, fine, but then my little boy wouldn't eat those. Ordered a smoothie, then that wasnt available so had a coke instead. The wait for it all was long (and for stuff we didnt really order or want but because we waited so long we felt stuck) and my little boy had got extremely restless. The side we were sat on my little boy kept playing with the lights that were on the back of the chairs covered in dust and old dead insects so had to keep distracting him with something else. He played with the sauce packets that came in a tub on the table, they were very dirty and not kept clean. A very tired cafe with slow service and very little in stock. So many options on that strip of formby will definately be sticking to our usuals or trying somewhere else, wont be back here, wish we would have known better in hindsight. It was over £35 we spent in the end too as my mum ordered a flatbread. Bonkers, really when none of it was what we originally ordered, only the flatbread.”

“Having just been for a walk from the village down to the beach and back went in here for coffee and ended up having some really lovely food. Coffee was great with real dark chocolate grated over it! Really pleasant staff. Will be going back to explore the extensive menu.”

“First time visiting this little gem in lovely Formby. Visited for lunch. Plenty of choice. We had a latte and a tea, a baked potato with cheese and a sausage and brie toastie. All the food/drinks were excellent. Sat in a comfy booth. Very friendly service and we loved the background music, a great selection of 70s and 80s tunes. Will definitely visit again when next we are in the area.”
