About Lock & Quay
Lock & Quay is a community pub on Irlam Rd in Liverpool, and every profit it makes is reinvested into community projects. The bar serves real ales brewed locally and keeps a real fire, with no TVs, machines or pool tables. Live music is a regular part of the programme, with live bands and a country music festival in Bootle that brings free horse riding and a bucking bronco for kids. A bonfire night event adds fireworks and a showband. Other events through the year include a Cheese & Wine evening and Sefton Pride. The pub is open daily and sits near the canal and Bootle train station.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers come mostly for the community festivals, above all the Bootle Country Music Festival, praised for its live bands, free horse riding for the kids and the free bucking bronco. Close behind are the other events, including a Cheese & Wine evening with a friendly host, a bonfire night where a burning boat and fireworks drew praise, a Sefton Pride event and an evening of live local bands. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, and one reviewer says they were served easily at the bar during the festival. The big outdoor space and the permanent tent with a pop-up bar come up, as does the dog-friendly welcome, which two reviewers single out, one adding its handy spot for a pitstop on a canal stroll. Food and drink are described as very reasonable for a captive audience. The one complaint is from a festival-goer who says the sound was a problem and the music couldn't really be heard at times. One reviewer is already looking forward to the summer Salt and Tar music gigs.
