About Gastronomico

Gastronomico is a small restaurant set off Lincoln High Street on Alfred Street, where a compact dining room keeps the format close and personal. The menu is built around small plates for sharing, with garlic mushrooms, ham hock croquettes, and halloumi in hot honey among the dishes that arrive at the table, alongside a meat platter for one that stretches to two. The kitchen leans into that sharing rhythm rather than formal starters and mains, which shapes how an evening here unfolds. The restaurant is small, so a wait is common at busy times, and the team works on a walk-in basis. Seating is tight, and the room fills quickly once service begins. A short walk from the main shopping street, Gastronomico keeps a low profile on a quieter corner, drawing in diners who know to look for it.

“I visited this place for the first time yesterday, and I was absolutely blown away! I even recommended it to a friend, and we both had such a wonderful experience. The food was simply incredible — authentic, fresh, full of flavour, and absolutely delicious. You honestly wouldn’t believe that you can experience such amazing Greek food and flavours right here in England. It felt like a little piece of Greece had been brought to us🧡 We thoroughly enjoyed everything🔥 I would highly recommend this place to everyone. 100% worth a visit — we will definitely be coming back💥🎉”

“Started with some dishes to share, garlic mushrooms were delicious, ham hock croquettes yummy, halloumi in hot honey and more. The meat platter for one did the two of us. Far too full to even attempt a dessert. Really nice selection of dishes so we were spoilt for choice and will have to come back to sample more. Very comfortable atmosphere and very welcoming.”

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often point to the Greek food at this family run spot, and the meat platter for one is the dish named most, with one pair saying it was enough for two. Close behind is the fried calamari with aioli, which one reviewer calls "to die for", along with the tzatziki and toasted pitta, chicken gyros, and lamb kebab with harissa sauce. Others mention garlic mushrooms, ham hock croquettes, and halloumi in hot honey as good shared starters. Diners describe the meat as tender and juicy, and one notes the chef is from Rhodes and the food tastes authentic. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, and the room is described as cozy and welcoming. A few call the restaurant off the beaten track, tucked down a side street opposite a church, and one reviewer suggests booking because it is not a huge place. No complaints appear in the reviews. One group that came for two family birthdays ordered a spread of shared plates and says they left impressed and planning to return.
