About Bangla Spice
Bangla Spice is an Indian restaurant at 77 Main St in Leicester, open Tuesday to Sunday for evenings only and closed Mondays. The kitchen cooks curries including chicken tikka masala and butter chicken, with onion bhaji to start. Naan is made fresh, and a pickle tray is served with the meal. Diners can choose a set meal for 4 or a three-course meal option. A heater at each table keeps food warm while people eat, which suits a slow meal. Football is shown on screens both inside and outside the restaurant. Bangla beer is poured from 660ml bottles.

Customer Review Summary
Naan comes up most, with reviewers describing a light, fluffy peshwari naan, freshly made naan, and a huge, well done one. One diner wished they had ordered the keema naan that locals recommended. Close behind are the curries: a tikka korma called flavourful, a madras called perfect, and lamb that melts in the mouth. A crispy onion bahji and a set meal for four also earn praise. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and attentive, and several say the takeaway is as good as dining in. The complaints are specific. One reviewer waited two hours on Father's Day without receiving a meal, describes staff as busy with takeaways and rarely on the restaurant floor, and left for McDonald's. Another found the takeaway chicken tikka masala and butter chicken mostly sauce, with only five or six pieces of chicken, and suggests sitting down gets more meat. Reviewers also single out the pickle tray and a heater at the table that keeps food warm.

“Absolutely top tier food. Best Indian I've had from anywhere. Eaten a lot in Manchester, curry mile and this was better. Got a set meal for 4 and it was incredible. Locals stated how good it was when we were in there. Wish we had got a keema nan as they recommended it, but what we got was amazing. Great service from the people as well. Absolutely smashed it. Tempted to drive back down from Manchester for another. 👍”
